Silver Crown's 2013

With the recent change by USAC allowing teams to run methanol or ethanol in 2013, will this be enough to chage things in terms of car counts? I do know of one owner that has said (his words not mine) "If and when USAC comes to their senses and reverts back to methanol, he would get his car back out and run." Are there more that will do this?

I am asking this question to all owners of Silver Crown cars: Will this get you back on track? If not, what will?

Lets keep the BS out of this thread discussion. No attacks no nonsense. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Lets have some real constructive debate.

I just hope this isn't closing the barn door, after the cow has already escaped from the .

I will be bringing my car back out for next season, which has my crew pretty excited as they no longer have to stand in the shop making engine noises while I sit in the car up on the stands.

Kellen, I always thought your car was one of the best looking cars out there. It will be good to see it going fast next year.

We will be fielding a car for the first time in 2013 on the 3 miles and possibly Terre Haute

It would appear that the fuel changes didn't bring about the changes that were hoped for. What now is the next move to get this series growing again?

Maybe its time Mr. Stoops looked at changing the management.

It's a start.... I'd say to really solidify a full field USAC needs to pay 1,000 to start 10,000 to win as a base payout. I know that'd mean taking money out of USAC folks' pockets but some times you have to spend a little to make a little. You can't ride off of the coat tails of the sanctions history forever.

SC does not draw well enough at the front gate to make this happen.

Probably the same managers as Ambac Financial Group, Wolverine Tube INC, and American Media INC had. (these all went bankrupt due to inferior management)

The answer to your question is for USAC to bring back Greg Staab to run the Silver Crown Division. When he was in the Sprint Division it flourished. He got us the East Coast swing, owners were happy because Greg was an owner/driver and he knew what they wanted. Nobody would work harder and with more passion to step in an improve/fix the problems that the Silver Crown Division currently suffers from. USAC needs to get over themselves and hire back Greg Staab. But, this is only my opinion, so what do you guys out there think of this idea?

I couldn't agree more with that. This isn't 1960's or 1970's anymore. USAC is a feeder system and has been since the mid 90's. That right there is what needs to be immediately addressed. If nothing else, go examine what WoO did and does. WoO is far more successful right now then USAC has been for 20+ years.

As to hiring back Greg Staab? USAC will never admit they F'D up royally on that deal. Of course, when you make a mistake that big it's hard to admit your wrong.
