USAC and the $100.00 hold back

Can some one explain why you buy a TP from USAC and then have $100.00 taken out fo your pay off. When they go to I96 in MI they will need some local cars I am sure.MTS members should get together and tell USAC TP ok $100 no go

Good luck with that

I was under the impression that the $100 deduction was to pay for your TP....at least that's how it sounded when they came to MO earlier this summer....If they have convinced racers to pay coming and going theres just one step left....run for congress.

Should members not get a special benefit? You are not getting deducted $100 just picture it as $400 to start then you wont notice the $100 dollars you don't receive. The guys who are USAC members travel a long way to race with them and that extra $100 I believe would be to help offset the expenses, especially the race they rescheduled in MI that $100 extra will not cover the travel expenses most members are going to have to travel up there.

The way I look at it, these races still pay $400 to start you will not find that many other places.

I saw how well the car count went at Four Crown

Re: USAC and the $100.00 hold back

37 sprinters at 4 crown......not bad. USAC should just advertise $400 to start and give their members an extra hundred...then no one could figure out how to complain about that. $400 is still more than it was previous to last year. Forget about trying to make money fielding a sprint car...I don't care how many races you win or start.

treecitytornado 9/24/12 3:48 PM

The kind of equipment you have to have to run with USAC it should pay 500 minimum to start. I heard the Outlaws penalize a non-member 200 at the pay window though, but that is still 600. Since WoO pays 800 to start most shows.

Since you know it up front if you read the entry form, which is published each and every race, you just have to decide whether to race or not. If you race three or more races with USAC, it is worth your money to buy the USAC badge for the year. You get pitpasses cheaper and get to keep the $100. This is to get more cars to run with USAC and travel. The Michigan race is a USAC sanctioned event, therefore, it is USAC rules.

I understand if this was in Indiana and you haveto chance to run more races but when you go out of your area and need local cars common sense should apply. When the WOO comes to Canada their waive the membership you get free p[it passes and full pay.How many teams from MI could follow the USAC series.USAC had 10 regulars at Hartford With out locals it would be hard pressed to put on a show Fans want to see a full field

The WOO also have a much bigger financial backing compared to usac. It could be a lot worse and they could keep more. Its only fair for the guys that paid for that membership

Please don`t let the 100 be your deterrent to not go if you really want to race... Every race you miss is one you won`t get back. Besides , everyone who owns a sprint car should try a USAC sanctioned event once in their life. Just to get to know the officials , admire their professional appearance and their special attention to the local drivers issues will offset the 100 dollar penance incurred in your winnings. Winnings will be a check mailed to you a week after the show , so make sure you have truck fuel money for the ride home. I`ve never had them make a mistake with our pay , so I don`t know what recourse a guy would have if that happened. Who knows ?... It may be something you enjoy and over the winter you will decide to get the 2013 membership. Have fun what ever you decide .

I'm happy I-96 is going out on a limb and running this show. It's only an hour away for me except for I will be coming from Terre Haute. I think some of the MTS guys would be happy to make the show and collect 4 or 5 hundred or more. I just hope we get it in and there is a good crowd.

The most MTS pays to start is $250 so they stand to come out at least $150 ahead if they decide to sack up and run 96... It should be a great show either way...

Re: USAC and the $100.00 hold back

This is why you only see regulars at the U.S.A.C shows and the locals tend to stay away. Why should you punish the drivers who are putting on the show for the fans? The top teams will not be around U.S.A.C. forever and then who will replace them?

I always thought the reason you purchased an annual membership was so you would be eligible for point fund money & contingency prizes, not forced into paying elevated pit pass costs, and to be covered by USAC insurance..had no idea it was to be able to earn the advertised purse.

You could possibly try driving harder to finish higher and get paid more. Just a thought. No one ever handed me a free paycheck.

I know the weather here in Florida has been rainy and humid, also there is climate change, the market was down over a 100 points today. I'm holding USAC responsible!

Re: USAC and the $100.00 hold back

People need to quit worrying about the $100 , it's getting pretty old. $400 is still more to start than pretty much any regular show here in Indiana. Members should get benefits from joining, as it should be when joining any organization. There were a lot of Ohio locals that showed up at 4Crown that weren't USAC regulars. Also, what about all the locals that showed up in Arkansas? So you can't say that locals don't support the organization. People need to worry more about standing on the gas, and less on their "missing" $100. Maybe I'm wrong, but that $100 extra dollars isn't gonna buy them any more talent. Bottom line they need to just show up, stand on the gas, and take the USAC regulars money, just like Clayton! And if you don't make the race, you still make a hundred dollars!

Well there you go... I knew some unfortunate individual would have encountered this. I have had my check sent to someone in California. It was an honest man who sent it to Dad without even asking for his postage back.
