Shuman said he will be in the 17. Rumored that Clauson is making the trip over. Going to be a good field of cars!

Joe Liguori will be there

Take it for what you want but Howard Johnson's owner out of Lima called us to see if there would be room for two of the cars he sponsors that typically run USAC. Now I'm not sure who all they sponsor for sure but I do know they sponsor Kyle Larson. Probably the hottest shoe in racing right now.

100% should be one of the two (hunter)

Yes one of them is Hunter Scheurenberg who will be there from my understanding. Maybe his good buddy Brian Karraker is the other one? not sure.

Yea now that you said those two names I'm pretty sure you are right. They kept referring to BK and I wasn't sure who that was at the time. That is still cool! Man o man what a field of cars we are going to have!!!!!

Do you have the format yet?

WRP DK 9/15/12 8:29 PM

Yea. Heat races straight up based on qualifying results. Then bmain will get their times back. Lastly the winner of the last heat will pull either a 2-4-6-8 for the a-main inversion.

Re: Hewitt Classic Driver List

Take the 2 out of the inversion & make it 4, 6 or 8. That should be for the heats. Gotta funny feeling it's going to be dry slick for the heats but come feature time it should be good. Just got home from Fremont & pumped up about Waynesfield.

Re: Hewitt Classic Driver List

How about a fan vote on the inversion deal ?? It worked pretty good the way it was done for the July 28th race at Eldora although it was done with the spinning of a wheel by a driver. Also this should be an annual deal (date) along with the July 3rd race no matter who is running the place.

Straight up start heat races are not fan friendly...........

double checkered 9/16/12 11:40 AM

I don't know if it can be changed since its been posted otherwise.....but my suggestion would be one number 1, two number 2's, four number 4's maybe peppered with one or two "all". (I heard that was something else at Eldora). Numbers in a hat/bag and let fast qualifier decide their fate. What's the reward for fast time though?

WRP DK 9/16/12 12:36 PM

Based on number of cars committed we are going to not start straight up in the heats. There will be a draw for inversion after qualifying. We will then run the c and b if needed. Then if a driver does not transfer out of the heat and has to go to the b and transfers to the a he will get his time back. So the reward for qualifying is getting your time back for the a. We will announce the final format in the drivers meeting.
