Re: MMSA non wing, double nighter
Amsa legal cars are not allowed in mmsa. Silly but thats how it is i guess

Re: MMSA non wing, double nighter
why ?
|
I will be at the Burg saturday. I've never had a track worker at the Burg try to put their hands on me. I can't say that about the other place.

Re: MMSA non wing, double nighter
They dont allow the 1100s or 1200s even with the added weight they have to carry. 150 pounds more by AMSA rules.
|
Re: MMSA non wing, double nighter
there are a number of AMSA members that has run all year with MMSA when AMSA wasn't running legal with both clubs
|
Re: MMSA non wing, double nighter
from what i read mmsa say max 1000cc stock bore and stroke. Will they let the bigger engines run?
|
Re: MMSA non wing, double nighter
no but there are very few left running , most run 1000 anymore

Re: MMSA non wing, double nighter
I dont have a 1200 i have an engine that is 1074 cc. you missed my point everyone should be able to race Im not against MMSA they want 600s to come race so why not everyone

Re: MMSA non wing, double nighter
Im not buying another expensive 1000 for my car when your newer 1000s have more horsepower than my 98 gsxr and it only 74cc bigger I will just leave it at home and go help my son. Thats a real shame that i would have to buy another engine. If Amsa is not running next week now that worries me about what is happening. Do i just leave my car at home cause its old and has an engine that is 74cc over. New engines cost more than i can spend in these times
---------- Post added at 12:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:46 PM ---------- I will try that scott. I sure hate to waste my old car after i made it look nice lol. I dont hate mmsa just dont like the engine rule My engine is no big monster or anything. I would run with mmsa some if i could i just completely redone and old car and about to get it out. |

Re: MMSA non wing, double nighter
Do they allow camping at the track? We are going to try are best to be there.
|
Re: MMSA non wing, double nighter
AMSA will be racing at the Burg on Saturday Sept. 1st. but gave up on TC for the way one of our members was treaded by the staff there. Pjohnson you can race with us at Lawrenceburg if you like. just have to weigh more.

Re: MMSA non wing, double nighter
Well dad lots of dads do and i think i have been a very good dad i raised three kids and now have five grandkids and ya i can still race as well. wow dont question my ability to be a dad. If you dont like those cars that your right dont bad mouth the people who do like them. I dont like stock cars but have friends with kids that drive them i dont question what they do. That comment was uncalled for my whole point of posting was to find out why mmsa was replacing amsa and i found that out. Also if the old motors are boat anchors and get beat all the time why be afraid of them. Just my thoughts not trying to cause a fight.

That extra 74cc's cost somebody about $1500.00 to $2,000.00. That would buy a newer motor when the old one lays down. I think your son racing a micro is great . He didn't like your big car or just lives closser to a micro track. I kinda of thought you would take my coments in a different way, If you showed up to race I would vote for you, the other thing I find is when racing they don't say much until you win or beat the wrong person. Re: MMSA non wing, double nighter
dad im not mad just did not like the comment but its all good. yes he lives closer to us24. i plan to race the car where ever they will let me i think the newer 1000s are just as fast. Look at the way 1000 prices went up and they will get worse. just let people race and add weight if they are bigger. Think of the poor little 600 getting beat up by the 1000 but they come and race. But as long as we have amsa and mmsa and a few tracks with weekly or bi-weekly we should all be happy people lol I want to run as many as i can in 2013

Looks like MMSA will be one car short again so if I was them I would say let this guy run. Re: MMSA non wing, double nighter
pjohnson if you want to run with MMSA all you have to do is show up and sign in, They Wont check your engine especially if you run with them once, Bill told me personally that he wasnt going to check cars at Eldora because they had raced with them already this year. To be honest with you twin cities isnt worth going to it gets way to dust and the track personel will try to fight you before anyone else.

People don't respond to all this negative stuff. Like I keep on saying "competition" is great, it brings out the best in everything. You are selling a product, the better you can make that product the more people will buy it. If you do manage to convince someone that the other guy is selling junk what makes you think that the person is going to deal with someone who is so negative. Work on your product make it better than the other guy and people will want to deal with you. That is what is great about the old USA today we are allowed to compete for peoples business and that makes us better. There is plenty of room for 2 organizations Here in Indiana each with a little different approach of doing things (1200cc vs 1000cc stock). Times are tuff but when things get better so will the racing. Negative comments never did anything good for anyone, most of all the person making them. Honest Dad himself:6::6: |

We ran there about a month ago with the MMSA and the track was pretty good.....until they dumped a bunch of water on it before the 1000cc feature which turned it into a slippery mud hole.

Re: MMSA non wing, double nighter
Theres a way around it to make the 1200 engines legal everywhere, since they're boat anchors anyhow. Just have a 1000cc stock liquid cooled or a 1200cc air/oilcooled limit. I have one of the poor boat anchor powered cars, funny thing is it's faster than any new stock 1000. Reliable like sledge hammer also. hmmmm dumb luck I guess. As for running a slightly oversize 1000, I wouldnt let it stop me from racing a stock 1000 race.

When i was there i was in the lineup shoot and realized i forgot to tighten something on my race car and there was an on track incident that came off the track and back into the pits and the big tall guy that stands at the track entrance most of the time goes running back there and jumps right in the fight, I saw my chance to go grab some tools to tighten the bolt and when i went running back to my car with two wrenches in my hand and my full driving suit includding helmet and arm restraints trying to stay out of the path of the fight here comes that big tall hillbilly dude and gets in my face and says "did you flip me off" i said no i have these tools and im going to fix my car in the lineup shoot, He replied back "no i saw you and you flipped me off" I replied back to him no i didnt i am just trying to fix my car before we run the feature, At this point he has pi**ed me off But im a buck 30 and he is at least a buck 90 or bigger and about a foot and a half taller than me. I just try to ignore him and go around him and he is acting like he wants to kill me because supposedly i flipped him off, which i didnt at all and i dont belive i flipped anyone off that night. I bet he beats little kids up for flipping him off all the time. Im not posting BS here it happened and it happened to me personally.:26:
