MMSA at Twin Cities 8-25-12
The MMSA "Winged Warrior Tour" returns to action this sat. Aug. 25th at Twin Cities in No. Vernon, IN
With 9 different winners so far this season, will we have a 10th this week? Last weeks race had 5 cars in contention right up to the checkered flag, Racers & Fans, come out and enjoy the competition. All upright, 1,000cc, stock bore & stroke Mini Sprints are welcome, 600's too, see the MMSA website for rules, info etc. Bill May |
Normal race time? I feel like they started early last time....

Re: MMSA at Twin Cities 8-25-12
What happened to your race that was scheduled at Waynesfield? couldn't get your guys to travel that far. No surprise they don't travel much away from their back door. good luck at twin city.

who is this jones guy and why is he relevant?

To b honest chris I don't think anyone knows, so to me its not relevant, just someone starting drama on a plublic open forum to see apparently how many hits it gets, witch I might b mistakin but " dad" holds that record for most hits with the MMSA at ELDORA Postings, Did you catch that little race or get to attend Harry ? It was a good one !!!!!;)

Re: MMSA at Twin Cities 8-25-12
Just for the record.....the last time the MMSA ran at Waynesfield there were 25 cars there.
|
Btw congrats to the MMSA for having 10 different winners,10 is a good number. It really tells you how even, competitive and close the racing has been so far !!!!!!

Re: MMSA at Twin Cities 8-25-12
but most of the racers was from the waynesfield groupthat night and I was at Eldora. most of those drivers was waynesfield 11 i think and about 9 or 10 from the amsa group so that left about 8 or 9 from mmsa that track was to big for the mini sprints. but they all can say the raced at Edlora

Re: MMSA at Twin Cities 8-25-12
OK....I know I am going to hate myself for asking this but what's your point?
Many of us are 'geographical' racers. By that I mean we choose to race at the track closest to where we live. I am not going to drive 3.5 hours to run a non-wing race with the AMSA at US 24 when the MMSA is running 1.5 hours from us at Brownstown. And, I'm not going to drive 1.5 hours to race at Brownstown with the MMSA if I can run with the AMSA at L-Burg, 15 minutes from home. Now there are exceptions. I don't see myself going back to Twin Cities anytime soon with either the AMSA or MMSA for a number of reasons I won't get into here. I'll drive the extra distance and go to Waynesfield. So, as you can see, for us it is not the AMSA vs MMSA.....it's simply convenience and track quality. |
Re: MMSA at Twin Cities 8-25-12
well said and I agree with you, but then when the amsa has a race close where the mmsa member are and they don't have a race, why don't they come and join in with the amsa member, and have a good car count. the amsa member will go and race with the mmsa group and some have to drive more then they want but, they want to race. but some is getting tired raceing with them when they don't return the favor. so far this year not 1 of the mmsa group has race with or at any of the amsa races. they don't charge but $15.00 if a member or not so it isn't the money thing. and the amsa group is just as friendly as the other. they are trying to keep the Mini Sprints alive. and where a person can afford to own a mini.I agree with the gas so high. close to home is best. I see that the amsa will be at the burg on Sept 1 want to make a bet not one of the amms guys will show up for that race. oh forgot he is at twin City. and I wouldn't race there either. after a couple more races around here we will be headed back to the U.P. of Michigan

Well stated Phil. Im in partial agreement with TC, they need improvements there regardless of which series is racing at the track. However I'm not gonna pass up the track that is 1hr away, with diesel at a estimated $4.10 a gallon this weekend.. I dont mind slinging dirt with daugherty or rod but thats a haul...Btw Phil is the boy still eating with the help of a straw? Those wisdom teeth are a bad deal!
Andy @ Harry.... Take out your weekly plastic pill case and eat the contents under the letter that says "T"... Quit being a D$CK all the time... Best Reguards- the mini sprit community... Posted via Mobile Device |

I'd love to see someone take over TC that would improve the place. Cutting down the vines that are growing over the lights in turn three would be a good start! :18: We'll probably see you guys at the next Brownstown race. |

In fairness to Bill I asked him about this scheduling conflict around 6 weeks ago and he told me that Waynesfield was supposed to have removed the date from their schedule. Not sure why they didn't update their website information. |
Re: MMSA at Twin Cities 8-25-12
I have heard that one definition of a good diplomat is, someone that could tell you to "go to hell" in such a nice way, that you would look forward to making the trip,
The Aug. date for the MMSA at waynesfield was contingent upon a date at Limaland the nite before,in an attempt to revive "Mini Sprint mania" It became a fact that this was not happening shortly after our May race at Waynesfield, at that time I spoke with Greg Shobe to remove the MMSA from the schedule, we had a lengethy discussion about the benefit of an outside sanction group to mini sprints at waynesfield, their car count is comparable to the MMSA without a pill draw fee, the payout is about the same, some of the regulars stayed home when an outside group came in, Waynesfield mini sprints are successful without the MMSA and I hope they continue to be. I told Greg the MMSA was always pleased with our treatment at waynesfield, He expressed no dissatfaction with the MMSA to me. The track had a change in operating personnel and apparently, somehow, the schedule was not revised. The date at Twin Cities was available and I accepted it, so now both tracks, approx. 150 miles apart, are racing, more cars will receive a payout, I fail to see a real conflict, which brings us back to my first statement. I will skip the "Diplomacy" and just say, Some posters on this thread, "Don't know what the hell they are talking about". Bill May |
Re: MMSA at Twin Cities 8-25-12
Bill May you would make a great Ambassador to the UN. I think that was very diplomatic. I Hope you got your point across.
We got home and everything seemed to be Ok, hope to be there with bells on. Honest Dad himself:6::6: |
Re: MMSA at Twin Cities 8-25-12
Wish that would have worked out with Lima and Waynesfield. Would have been a great weekend of racing.

Re: MMSA at Twin Cities 8-25-12
Did anyone look at the gas pumps. The price of gas has taken traveling very far away for many a team.
