Re: Little 500 pics
Sure did. It's visible in most all pics from this crash.

Re: Little 500 pics
man awsome pictures. What could have been. All of these guys were raceing each other pretty clean. REALY CLEAN for a little 5, and then a stupid part brakes and takes out 6 of the best. Man I hope everyone comes back next year.

Re: Little 500 pics
When DOESN'T Dave take a good picture? He NEVER takes a bad one. If he does I'll pucker and plant one on the cheeks!

Re: Little 500 pics
Good point.

Re: Little 500 pics
Are both Jimmy and Eric holding their shields shut at the start of the crash? It apperars that both of their instincts were to let go of the wheel and grab the helmet keeping the shoelds down.
I've never seen a guys first instinct being to do that. |

I always heard storys that before arm restaints guys when going into a hard crash would tuck in their arms to prevent them from flopping around outside of the car. If you look at the pictures of the Stan Fox crash at Indy you can see him in that position...............this was my first thought here |
Re: Little 500 pics
Dave once again you show why you are one of the best in the business of race car phototagraphry.
|
Re: Little 500 pics
I think they each thought the crash was over, started to open their shields then some more pile in from the rear.

Re: Little 500 pics
the other thing is you take you hands off the wheel before hitting the wall, so you don't brake your arm. Everyone tenses up some before when they are crashing, take you hands off the wheel so that you don't try to hold onto it when it makes its vilolant turn. You see this happen alot in the stock car classes with rookies. Once you take your hands off they have to go some where.
But I like what my dad said, Mccune and steel are holding there heads saying NOT AGAIN. Eric gordon is saying, damn it finally caught up with me. Did anyone get a picture of heavron setting on top of his car in the pitts. Thats the face of a man not ready to give up. |
Re: Little 500 pics
great pictures and great action shots. I knew I should have sold sponsorships for the bottom of the car :headbang:redflag:

I had a buddy not let go of the wheel. He ended up with a spiral fracture. He looked down and his hand was almost backwards. 3 sergrys, 2 plates, and several screws and its like brand new. it was more than a year before he was able to drive again. Sam is Eric going to have a car for the 400? |
Re: Little 500 pics
