High***** just shift to the next higher gear and go from there. 100+ MPH kinda of like Owensboro Ky. but banked, and I figure that is on the bottom.

I would not recommend light weight chassis cars for there. A tad big for us but what the hey! Should be a ball, and something you can tell your grand kids about.

Sure no problem. gear for 100 mph at max rpm. Tire diameter X rpm of rear axle divided by 12. that give you feet per min.

60 mph = 5280 feet per min

100 mph = (feet per min X) cross multiply and divide

100 x 5280 = 528000

528000 divided by 60 = 8800 feet per min.

If your rear tire is 82" 's that is 6.83 feet per revolution.

8800ft divided by 6.83ft = 1288 rpm's for rear axle.

Max motor rpm = 11000 rpm divided by 1288 = over all ratio 8.5 to one. You can do that in second gear. Might have to slip your clutch a bit taking off.

From what i have seen that would be almost all of the MMSA cars except for about 4 maybe.

Bradleyracing86 7/30/12 5:22 PM

Leave the wing flat. I'd say 8.2 dad!

You sound like one of them there naysayers. Do you have your information from competent authority or is it something you just figured out yourself. We cross the scales at 1000 lbs plus with our wing on and do pretty good.

Bill May has an ultrasonic thickness tester at hand, probably the only one out there right now. Cars are weighed at the end of each race. If you in-fact do own a car I would be glad to check your roll-bar thickness for you.:5: The light weight frame deal was a problem several years ago and were produced in the late 90's but most of them are out of the system by now, If I thought I might have one I would ask Bill for a test before I even attempted Eldora.

You know "mini" I'd say your name has changed but your breath (attitude) still smells the same (A Rose by any other name).

We thinking about turning the wing right side up to kind of take a little weight off of the tires at speed. That is one of them aero things you just would not understand. 8.2 sounds good to me.

I understand how you feel about it, but have you checked your speeds a Lawrenceburg, there won't be a whole lot of difference between the two tracks.

I get that....but how far do we push these motors and cars before we are pushing them too far?

I feel nauseous watching TJ run at L-Burg. I don't know if Eldora has enough beer to get me through that evening of racing. :32:

I know exactly how you feel. The only way Doug's mom can watch a race is behind a video camera. This a a good chance for us to go out and sell our sport to a lot of people who have never even heard of these little cars before and that is how I got hooked. And like a drug addic missery enjoys company and I want more people to be miserable like me.

before we go to a new track I always do a google map of it a 200 feet resolution. From what I can tell is Lawrenceburg would just fit inside Eldora's infield. When we raced at lawrenceburg some nights we used a whole lot of the track. Eldora is a lot wider than lburg so there should be plenty of racing room.

L burg is a HorsePower track for minisprinters and Eldora will be a supper horsepower track. Engine and fuel tec should be done there.

With our little 175 - 200 horsepower cars you can only go so fast and they are reaching that speed already at lburg. They will reach that speed at Eldora. I think about 100mph will be it, then the govoner "Wind drag" will slow us down.

The big "E" should be a lot of fun for the racers, something to tell their grand kids about. Any race track should be respected but not feared. If the fear is there don't do it. We could use some pit crew help.

Honest Dad himself:6::6:

Bradleyracing86 7/30/12 8:04 PM

Yea maybe we could get on Tonys good side and he could help us get a corporate sponsor.... JD Byrider, Old Spice, Bass Pro.. These cars are on the edge of going big... We just need a little help.

Bill May has ran some big races, let's show him some appreciation with a good car count.

Dump a 1/2 quart more oil in your car, gear it for momentum, flatten that wing..

Let's go racing boys!

I have received contact from racers from 10 states, plus canada expressing interest in participating in this historic event.
NOTICE:
I have posted Eldora driver & pit pass age rule requirements on the MMSA website, Keep checking the website, I will be posting additional information in the next few days.

I wish I could find a ride for this. I have not been in a race car since my accident at the non-wing brownstown event. Sounds like it should be a lot of fun and will for sure be very fast. Good luck to all

I have personally seen several of the mmsa regulars with older cars and cars that arent built the best to begin with no matter what year they are, also the front axles in some of those cars are pretty small and i have seen those small axles bend and break very easy. Im not talking about the wheight of the cars just how some of them are built and the equipment they are built with, I have watched a few MMSA races this year and i have been to the pits and looked at a lot of the cars, im thinking of buying a mini so therefore i have been looking at a lot of different cars.

You need to talk to Larry at Speed partz and buy a FOZ.
His cars are actually Spike midgets built by Godfrey in Indianapolis. Very same car they use for midgets, same tubing and everything, just modified to run a motorcycle engine. We have 2 of them and are very happy with them.

im not on either side as far as MMSA and AMSA are concerned, i have been to more MMSA races this year than i have AMSA, I am just stating what i have seen, AMSA seems to be a lot of Henchcraft cars and some Foz cars, I believe if i buy a car i will buy a new Henchcraft from what i have seen they are cleaning up the wins, I have heard good things about Larry at speed parts but i just dont like the looks of the FOZ Jmo.:26:

If I was you guys I would put a "for sale" post on the WIMS website, Your car would change their whole way of racing and I am thinking some smart racer could clean up until they figured out what hit them.

Besides the further away from home your car is the better it is for us.

I will agree those cars winning do have good drivers and seem to be haveing good setups but the majority of those cars appear to be Henchcraft cars, DAD, Im not high class by any means i just have a good set of eyes and when i see something thats good thats what i go with, Yea other cars have won but theres one chassis that is winning the most, Im not on here to make anyone mad I thought this was america and i could have fredom of speech thats all. DAD where do you run mostly, I see your always posting stuff about MMSA but I dont recall seeing your car at any race this year, and i always see you asking for updates when they are racing. I dont want to sound like im bashing any chassis builder especially the foz car i know its a good car and has won some races but in my own openion i like the Hench car but if Hyper gets their new car out i may swing toward it.

Great!! Lets just agree to disagree.:) Lets stop bashing racing groups and fellow racers cars owners and even chassis builders. I did not buy my race car for looks. I bought it to race, and most of the people I race with feel the same way. Race car Chassis are a matter of personal taste and every one sees things a little different.

I don't drink with the "heard" never have and probably never will. Back when everybody else was racing Bailey's and ERC's I was racing a Beast by Dwight Farnsley and Bob Nicoles. When I got the chance to get a one off "Stealth Mini Sprint" I got it. Now I race an FSC (by AJ Felker) one of my former drivers, and like the Stealth you can't just go out there and buy one of them either so I don't have to park besides another one very often, except for "Lynsey & Joe".

Like Phylo said you need set up and driver, we got those but what he left out was two more important things "MONEY" and "LADY LUCK". It is Much better to be lucky than good.

MONEY talks and BULL-S#IT walks--I have been doing a lot of walking lately. I think we are back together now so. If you come to a MMSA show and you see a Gosh-ugly #37 or my big old 2 story black trailer stop by and say high. I really ain't Mad anymore.
