Haubstadt or Putnamville
Fairly new to the area. I live about the same distance from Haubstadt and Putnamville. What would be the best show to see this Sat. Aug. 4.Thanks.
|
Probably about the same number of cars at each place, but the bigger names wil probably go to Haubstadt for $5k to win.. So that's my pick.

Re: Haubstadt or Putnamville
im a fan of both live 10 miles away from haubstadt. its more to get in and probley less cars then putnamville but the quality of cars and the racing its self probley a notch over putnamville. putnamville will def get more cars. pretty sure you can check the records but the last two years haubstadt has ran putnamville has had more cars as far as the racing goes we will let you decide. Ill be at haubstadt.

Re: Haubstadt or Putnamville
With USAC out west, will that affect car count in Haubstadt much?
|

mowerman. If I were you I'd have my water checked and/or the tobacco in your pipe.

Re: Haubstadt or Putnamville
Lets look at it a little differently. Haubstadt only runs special shows, not weekly. Putnamville runs weekly. I would guess that another Saturday might be even better at Putnamville because Haubstadt wouldn't be running against it and some of the USACers might be there.
On the other hand, I might be overanalyzing the whole thing. You shouldn't be disappointed at either. |
Re: Haubstadt or Putnamville
Quick Change--LPS runs every week and TSS only select shows so I would hit TSS. You can hit P-ville virtually any week.
---------- Post added at 10:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:57 PM ---------- Haubstadt is also paying $5,000.00 to win. |

Re: Haubstadt or Putnamville
that night at either track will be a good show

Haubstadt will probably have 2 sprint heats again and a feature so yeah, LPS. Will probably have way more cars and more bang for your buck.

Re: Haubstadt or Putnamville
With USAC out of state, and 5 Large up for grabs, this race traditionaly has attracted your Non-points chasing , young gun slinging, regional big dogs. Three awesome heats last year at this race. I am sure that LPS will have its weekly good show as well though... Just get out and go to a race and quit whining. I will be at the WOO race in B-Ton Friday as well......Yes wangs!

Re: Haubstadt or Putnamville
I drive from St. Louis for both tracks... the only plus P'ville might have would be car count and I only say that because of the opinions of the guys who live over there and know the weekly show better. Otherwise, personally Ive been more impressed with the track conditions and racing at Haubstadt. Just my two cents.

Re: Haubstadt or Putnamville
Both tracks are great. I actually live much closer to Haubstadt (45 mins vs 2 hrs), but if they were equal distance, I would pick Haubstadt. Just my preference. You will do well going to either.

Re: Haubstadt or Putnamville
Haubstadt. No contest.

Re: Haubstadt or Putnamville
They're both nice tracks, either one would be good. But, I would be very concerned of the car count at Haubstadt with USAC out of town. Considering their top five drivers, as of July 1st, posted on MSCS's website is all USAC drivers (Stanbrough, Ballou, Stockton, Schuerenburg, Gardner). And as you look down the list, even more are within the top ten. Can anybody remember the last time they went to any series' race where the top five in points weren't there? Stanbrough has said multiple times this year that he's chasing the USAC championship, and I can't remember the last time Robert Ballou missed a USAC race, same with Gardner. Chase Stockton has been running well with the USAC boys, so I can't see him missing the USAC race, especially when he's running tenth in points, but who knows. All top five drivers in MSCS are within the top ten in USAC points. If I was MSCS and Haubstadt, I'd try to find another date later in the year to run it. At most you're looking at 20-25 cars, on the high end. For a $5,000 to win show, the fans should be able to see the bigger names and a larger car count, because you're paying a premium price to get in. I know a lot of people on this message board always knock down the importance of a high car count, but when you're going to see a special show like this, car count and quality should both matter.

Re: Haubstadt or Putnamville
I don't really care if there are big names or not. Just want to see good, competitive racing with a full field of cars. At least enough for a full feature and prefer to have B-main. Sometimes that is just as interesting to watch the battle for the transfer. If anyone knows of specific cars and drivers that will be at each place please post. Thanks everyone for the comments.

Re: Haubstadt or Putnamville
I'll be at Haubstadt because it is a twenty-five minute drive and Putnamville is two and a half hours. I like Putnamville and have attended seven races and one rainout this year, but it is a no-brainer as to which track to attend when Haubstadt is running.

I won't lie. I go to haubstadt everytime there is a race there and I am very concered about the car count on saturday. Everybody that wants to complain why haubstadt scheduled it this weekend becuz the hoosier nationals has been on the same weekend since I can remember. Still with the car counts that everybody wants to talk about your going to see a great show for sure at tri state. You can't go wrong either place. But to a different subject. Sure wish people would quit worring about if any usac drivers are going to be there. I'm glad none of them will. The door will be wide open for a LOW budget team to win a nice payout instead of TSR coming in and grabbin some money that they don't need. Everybody have a great weekend and hope u all see a great race where ever u may go!

Re: Haubstadt or Putnamville
I like the fact that some of the lower budget teams have a chance at a good payday. There should be more good paying shows when USAC is away. I just hope there is enough of them to put on a good, full show of sprint car racing.
|
Maybe some of those low buck paragon teams will make the trip to haubstadt since they are off.

Re: Haubstadt or Putnamville
I'll drive the 150 miles to Tommy's place. As for a big money race, too many chicken sh*ts are afraid of them. Racing is for winners, not whiners . The guys who run Haubstadt for $5000 Saturday are the winners. The ones who don't show up and complain about purses, the whiners. Quit whining and do some racing.
