Social Media and Driver Information
Hey sprint car fans I am working on a project and need your help. With social media ever changing I am curious as to where you get your favorite drivers information if you could take a moment and either visit Bryan Clauson Racing Facebook fan page or answer here it would be a great help. Please leave comments both here and there if you have any comments concerning this poll.
Thanks !! Tim Clauson |
Re: Social Media and Driver Information
I can't vote I use all 3 and IMO so do most people, so I have all 3 for that reason.
Not the answer your looking for but hope it helps in some way. Danny 24 |
Re: Social Media and Driver Information
Drivers websites are not updated on a timely basis.
Facebook has become a maze to try and figure out. Twitter is GREAT, instant information. I can go to Twitter and find out the results of races as soon as they finish plus I can follow more than one race track. |
Re: Social Media and Driver Information
Tim I don;t use FC and don;t know how to tweet so I use this place right here IOW Sorry know not what you asked
|
Re: Social Media and Driver Information
No way am I doing Facebook; I do follow some drivers on Twitter (including BC), but I tend to come here at iow.com for immediate news & information.

Re: Social Media and Driver Information
I'm just surprised that IOW never even got a place on this poll. Everything I need to keep me updated on the world of open wheel racing I come here to get. With the exception of live updates on USAC races. There I go back and forth between USACLive's Twitter page, Sacha's updates on Ballou's Facebook page and Chris Nunn, who's been very active this year.

I think Tim means where do fans go to see about the drivers info like who the driver is, where they are from, what is their racing history, that kind of info. Not race results as here is the best as Tim and we all know that. Correct me if I am wrong Tim, that is just what I took from the post! Off to LPS for a Great Show for ISW battle for the King of this awesome week! Danny 24 |
Twitter is the best and easiest place to find out info. For race results IOW is the best. Good luck with everything Tim.

Re: Social Media and Driver Information
I use twitter (along with here) as I find it's easiest to use. Drivers and reporters can tweet as much as they want and tend to keep everything well updated.
Also, on a random note, sometimes I have questions about something during the day, and on twitter if I have a question I can ask the driver themselves, and they often respond, which is very nice. |
Re: Social Media and Driver Information
None of the above, i usually go to a more reliable source, the grandparents, who are always so kind to save me a seat at Kokomo, and not make me eat dirt in the lower rows. bob:9:
(Tim, sorry for the stupid answer to a serious question, it's just me. My real answer is also IOW). |
Re: Social Media and Driver Information
I use twitter to get the most up to date information about the drivers. Since I read all of the tweets, I have found that I go to racing websites less. I still come to IOW to get overall updates that you miss on twitter. If I have a specific question about a driver, (schedule or t-shirts, etc) I will go to there websites. If all else fails, I may go to the facebook page. However, if the answer is to go to a facebook page, I usually decide that I really did not need that information that much.

I use FB, Tweeter, USAC and even carrier pigeons if I need to! You keep my kid so darn busy he won't even call his Ol man with race updates..... LOL

Re: Social Media and Driver Information
Tim, like probably many in my generation, I'm an infrequent Facebook user and have never used Twitter. Consequently, when I want driver info I end up looking for their web page, although, as mentioned in an earlier reply, those aren't always up to date, nor do all drivers even have a page. In that case, I will check FB or do a web search. I hope this helps. Best of luck with your survey. Congratulations on your Sprintweek success. Sounds like a couple of bad breaks kept Bryan from winning the championship.

Re: Social Media and Driver Information
I rely mostly on the net for info. That new timeline thing on facebook confuses the heck out of me and I only got to using facebook in the last 8 months. Twitter is too short and too dadblamed confusing to me. :)
|
I update my homepage with results, where we are racing, and much more every week. Sometimes twice a week. Plus I have video clips, audio interviews, sponsor page, and much more.
It's www.jtstapp.com. I have yet to start a facebook and only tweet once in awhile. Posted via Mobile Device |
Read everything off of Facebook. It's my generations thing.

Re: Social Media and Driver Information
Tim. I turn to IOW first for all my racing info. A year ago I joined facebook and have Bryan, Coleman, and a few others as my facebook friends. The only thing I do on twitter is the USAC twitter updates.
Hope this helps, Patti |
Re: Social Media and Driver Information
Twitter - most of the time.
Facebook - no, not a FB guy. Driver websites - once in a while. USAC website - somewhere between once in a while and often. I also have a google subscription for all things USAC and it goes directly to my email. IOW - infrequently lately - seems I use it a little less as time goes by. |
Re: Social Media and Driver Information
Face book always, IOW when I have time, Although I like IOW the Best.

On any given race night that I am not able to attend I have Twitter, IOW, and FB pulled up all at the same time. On my mobile device I usually go to Twiiter depending on the series that is running. But I was looking for opinions driven more towards the your favorite drivers information. Thanks !! Tim |
