Re: LPS Sprintweek Thursday

They said THAT had no other support classes for Wednesday night, but thought i heard 1 support class at LPS, same as Lawrenceburg, which turned out to be just right. Also don't forget the HARF Pit Party 1 pm to 3 pm Thursday afternoon at LPS, your HARF card is all you need to get in and if you're not a member, sign up at the gate for only $15.00. Meet the drivers and teams and maybe win some prizes. We're in negotiations now to arrange for shade and 75 degrees, we'll let you know how that works out, bob.

Just checked the website and the 2012 schedule tab is missing which tells me they are updating it as I type. I'm thinking that means they added mods? Bill or LPS insider can you confirm?

It was originally announced as sprints only. If they wanted to run mods they should have announced it that way from the start. Bad PR to add it in later. JMHO

I just called the office and they have added Mods.
My grip is they made a big deal out of "Sprints Only!"
This is more than bad PR, but it saves me money. Really don't like to be lied to.

So what are you going to do in the 20 minutes between sprint heats and Consi and between Consi and Feature? If it really irks ya, Just stay home. Some real race fans would like to see something during down time.

Wish the biggest concern I had for today was how many classes of cars were running on Thursday at LPS instead of finding out that somone I love dearly won't probably be around to celebrate their 59th birthday because of that deadly c word we often talk about on here. Any of you guys that don't want to see the Mods run for Sprint Week want to change concerns with me? No, I didn't think so! Lighten up guys, enjoy the racing!

I might go just because the mods. I wasn't going to go just for the sprints. But I'd go to watch the mods. I know there are a lot of people just like me that might go now just because the mods. Good move on the tracks part.

If you don't go just because of one support class then you need to get off this board cause your not a true race fan. JMO

Isn't there a separate board on here for guys like you. I don't go on the modified board and bad mouth them. I know people who were looking forward to an old school night without support classes. I thought you hated the track prep there and didn't want to go back!

Buddy if you haven't noticed it's Indiana Sprint Week. The biggest week of dirt racing in the state and biggest week for non-wing cars in the country. All I'm saying is if you were planning on going, but now your going to skip sprint week at LPS because they decided to run a support class, then you might need to rethink how big of a fan you are. Just saying

I'm excited about the addition of modifieds. And with the national points and state points coming down to the line I could see alot of out of town drivers show up. Could and would love do see 40-50 mods and sprints show up. 4 to 5 heats of both and 2 b mains with capping it off with features what else would you want.JMO

know this news was upsetting to some that lps added mods is it because youn dont like mods, or is it being lied too,or both? i m sure the sprint teams will like it gives them a little time to get their cars ready for the b-main or feature, people that want to stay home because of it wish there was a way Bill could block them so they cant be home wanting updates just wait what are you going to do at terre haute during the down time, oh i know complaining because they are to much down time,:deadhorse:

If it is sprint week and a sprint only show, why not minisprints or something along the sprintcar line ?

While we're not gettin what was advertised, this is the first time I can ever remember people ******** about getting more for their money. Oh well, like my dad used to tell me " you can please all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time but you can't please all of the people all of the time.

According to my count, there are about 20 or so more people who have LIKED posts supporting adding the mods to the show than those who have LIKED posts against adding them. Looks like Joe just made an extra $500. Sounds like a good business decision to me! Oh, make that $525, cause I'm going now since I don't have to sit and twiddle my thumbs between the races.

ShaneMugavin57 7/17/12 8:44 PM

Schedule subject to change!

And now tracks should add when things do change you can read all the bitchin on IOW.

Thank You Jerry right now we need all the prayers people can send our way. Right now we are all in a state of disbelief, when I am able to say more I will be asking for everyones prayers. Yesterday was what I am calling a raw emtion day for me. Over the years there have been 25 cases of cancer in my family. Yesterdays news was still a major shock to my friends family and all of us that love them.

Sorry for your losses over the past six months, loosing friends or family to that c word never gets easier.

Re: LPS Sprintweek Thursday

As far as we're concerned in regards to support classes is for the promoter to run as many as they see fit.

Institute a reasonable time limit on the support class heats and B-mains and a two spin rule.

Also, be sure to run one of the support class B-mains following the headliner B-main to give the guys who transferred from headliner B-main a chance to work on their racing machines. Then run the headliner A-main first.

No dreaded downtime, everyone who wants more racing for their money gets it and the headliner B-main guys have a chance to tweak their cars prior to the headliner A-main. Those who don't care to watch the support class features can happily be on their way home. :27:

The track will without a doubt be in great shape so the more classes there are the merrier it will be.
