Farmer City Friday Sprints

Just a reminder, per their website:

This Friday July 13, Farmer City Raceway will have $2000 to win $200 to start Non-Wing Sprints, Modifieds, Sportsman, Street Stock and Hornets. The weather has cooled down and looks good for Friday. Gate prices are $15 and pits are $30. Gates open at 3, Hotlaps at 6:30, Racing at 7!

Sounds like a good car count is building with the addition of some Indiana cars.

"THere is no tire rule and this event is outlaw. There is a 50 entry fee for this event." No thanks...If this gets started then all promoters will do it... I have got enough expenditures w/o paying myself to race. :47:

less than 25 miles from home, BUT: Illinois in the midst of a drought -- three classes of tip-tops -- black slicky before hot laps end

no thanks

Thanks for the support. This is some what of a test to possibly run every Friday. They need fans and cars both. Last race with Ligouri, Babb, and Wissmiller was awesome. All tracks in both IN and IL have been slick by feature time this year, this one at least takes rubber and gets faster. And with Daron Clayton in the mix....should be a good night.

Actually 4 classes of fenders...uuuggghhh. I kinda like hornets though. Clayton better show because that's why I decided to go. Drought don't have as much to do with track prep as you might think, surely don't let that stop you or you might as well call it a season now!

I agree the entry fee is BS. Not a good idea.

Does anyone know if updates on this race will be available anywhere? I can't go but would like to keep up with it.
Thanks for your help

Sorry, Steve, but I've lived in Central Illinois for 66 of my 70 years. I've been going to races for 58 of those 70 years, and I am not willing to "get off my back porch" to go see another event that will be held on a too hot, too dry, too many support classes dirt track. Good luck to you and to Mitch Wissmiller tonight.
