Kokomo seats

I have never been to Kokomo speedway, just wondering where to sit. Planning on going to the Sprintweek race.

There isn't a bad seat in the house, so it comes down to your preference. We sit on front stretch on the top row just outside turn 4.

How are the camping facilities for RV's at Kokomo

addictedtodirt 7/8/12 9:15 AM

Seats on the back stretch face east and not into the sun. Plus you can see the cars rolling from pits to track. But really, all seats are good at Kokomo.
The RV camping is somewhat limited during Sprint Week (lots of campers!), so I would advise to roll in early. There are no hookups for elec. Or H2o.

Any grandstand seat is good. I like to sit up high just to the left of the flagstand towards turn 4. That wall out of 4 comes up pretty quick and it's fun watching the cars go down the frontstretch. Get an aisle spot if you plan to make any trips out during the night.

I have never sat on the backstretch but i was wondering where you park to sit back there?

There is a little parking lot back behind the backstretch stands.

You drive behind turns 3 and 4 to get there

There is a parking area for backstretch seating past turn 3. I parked back there once during Sprint Week and spent about an hour and a half getting out to the street. :7: But the racing was good!!

Same experience last year leaving the backstretch stands. I believe we left right away and still sat there for a long time. As with all sprint week races anymore, better get there early if you want to sit very high.

The Turn 1 end of the frontstretch grandstands is the family section (no alcohol). The pit area starts at the end of this section and you can see the cars coming off the track.

Is there a good place to eat a pizza or a breaded tenderloin in Kokomo?
I am betting there is.
Hopefully we can get in some duckpin bowling while in Indianapolis.

I like turn four but be aware of flying mud and dirt balls when the cars hit the cushion. You can't go wrong wherever you sit at Kokomo. The earlier you get there the better, It will fill up fast.

Try Mike's Pizza on south end of town. Dixon and Alto road, local, nice place, and great pizza.

Sit up as high as you can. We sat in the lower part, and I think we took home a bit of the track with us. If you have ever seen one of those "got dirt?" shirts, you get the idea. We really enjoyed the racing, but the 4 hour drive one way to Kokomo will probably keep us from getting up there again soon. Having the Monday morning alarm go off an hour and a half after you get to bed stinks.

There is a good pizza place about a mile from the track, Martinos. Family owned for 50 years. It is closed on Sunday, so Saturday would be a good chance to hit them. Very good pizza and sandwiches. It is located Just south of Morgan on Washington. Morgan is the road most take from US 31, Washington is the light right before you turn to go to the track As for the tenderloin, Rays Drive In has one of the largest in Indiana. It is located on thr same road as the track just south of the first stop light. Anyone can PM me if they have any questions.
