First Annual Merrill Downey Memorial during the Blast from the Past in the modifides division. On top of the regular purse, $44.00 will be awarded to the leader of each lap plus the fifth place driver in the fifth lap will be awarded $44.00. Currently 1st through 5th pays and additional $44.00 with more additional money on the way.

Admission Prices:

Adult: $15

Kids 7-12: $7

6 & Under: FREE

Pit Pass: $25 (all ages)

Times:

Pit Gate: 4:00pm

Front Gate: 5:00pm

Hot Laps: 7:00pm

Awesome tribute! Did Merrill run much in the Modifieds? Mainly remember him in the old Sportsman division and then Late Models for many years after that. Of course in the famous #44 though!

He was the 1992 Lawrenceburg Track Champion in the Modifieds.

I'm making the trip up from Gatlinburg as I want to be a part of the inaugural (no such thing as a first annual) Merrill Downey Memorial. He was a good friend for 30 plus years. Hope there's a Blue Ribbon I can drink in his honor.:32:

Looking great for Saturday night!! installed 2 misting stations under grandstands, Beer is iced down, ice cream is stocked. Watered track last night, and back at it tonight. See ya soon!!:8:

With sprints and lates Saturday is like a van halen song! Best of both worlds!!

The rumor is true. Andrew will be at the Burg tonight -- just got back from the shop and now its time to get some sleep.

Talked to Coleman a few minutes ago. Said there were roughly 15 to 20 cars as his best guess. Quality field, as usual, at LS. Misty but no significant rain as of our call. Iceman and new crew chief Fred Click looking for a solid run tonight..
