Re: Lincoln Park Speedway-Thursday Night Sprints
I new sooner or later they would throw junk in with the sprints. What happened with sprints only on thursdays
|
Re: Lincoln Park Speedway-Thursday Night Sprints
I knew sooner or later someone would respond to this with a comment like that.
After talking to a former sprint car driver last night in the pits he said Spiker "HAD TO" put in a support class. There is no way he can run one class and make money. |
Great post affordable. Makes you look like a genius. Good thing they had mods at terre haute last night to support your 14 sprint cars that showed up... Classy classy

I talked to a few drivers who said they would welcome one additional class which would give them some additional time to get the car ready.
If you've ever worked on a sprint car, you know how much work is required. Especially for the guys who are in the last heat race and must run the B-main. If you mix in a "minor" crash and it makes it almost impossible to be at the lineup chute in time. Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Lincoln Park Speedway-Thursday Night Sprints
And that former sprint car driver I talked to just so happened to be a guy that Bill Gardner crews for....:)

Chris, I'm a retired crew member. ;)

Re: Lincoln Park Speedway-Thursday Night Sprints
okay sorry for calling them junk I know they put alot of time and lots of money in them, and they dont get paid much for running. But all year he's been advertising sprints only and alot of people thought it it was working out, good car count good crowds put I can see your point on needing more time to work on the cars.I spoke before thinking SORRY

Re: Lincoln Park Speedway-Thursday Night Sprints
gene if you think these cars are junk just stop on by the shop and ill show youn just how much money we have in this junk you should think before putting your foot in your mouth and you know who this is
---------- Post added at 12:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:26 PM ---------- also this has not been planned all year for thursday racing, and he only had 300-350 general addm. tickets sold, last thursday didnt count, has only had one thursday sprints only show, easier for people to talk sh## without knowing what there talking about ---------- Post added at 12:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:30 PM ---------- one other thing on thursday night sprints yes it was promoted as sprints only if you cant get enuff sprints or fans to support it then dont do it, plain and simple, jmo |
Re: Lincoln Park Speedway-Thursday Night Sprints
I agree with Chris and Carmichael...another class is needed and "wanted" in my opinion. On the Thursday show for June 7th, we ran the last heat race, and barely had time to fuel the car for the B-Main...luckily we did, and made the A-Main...but it would have been nice to have a little more time to make some adjustments to the car and double check some things before firing off again...Looking forward to this week!
GOOD MOVE LPS!! :6: Some other teams need to get the chance to have fun two nights a week!! |

Kenny I apologize to you and any other driver or fan that I might have offended.I know you have a lot of time and money wrapped up in all of the cars you have.I defintly used a bad choice of words.Agian I apologize to everyone that I offended I know the cars arent junk.

I've had my sprint there every Thursday since it started and I think one more class would benefit everyone. Owner, driver, fans. One class (if the track makes everyone hussle) should not slow down show much at all but will keep the down time away, give everyone time to get ready for the next race, and make the track
More money which will insure a race track can stay alive. I think it's awesome to have two nights a week local and thank Lps for the opportunity. Posted via Mobile Device |
Next week is going to be busy at lps. Tuesday summer nationals, Thursday sprints and Saturday a full show. Thanks Joe!!!!!!!!

Re: Lincoln Park Speedway-Thursday Night Sprints
yes getting home late is the most commom complaint, followed by not starting on time, thinks alot of tracks tracks have problem with that, at least we still have places to race
|
Re: Lincoln Park Speedway-Thursday Night Sprints
Pretty cool to have qualifying at a local show and help bridge the gap for the local races who want to expand to some USAC shows down the road and want to learn that trait... the younger guys of course and not horrible racers like myself. It's crazy how nice and appreciative the LPS staff is to the guy who come out to have some fun and brings a trailer in the back gate as well. My .02 is also that a support class is a welcomed addition to a two man team like mine to give at least one breather or two from making adjustments and stacking tearoffs as the night rolls on. I'm not sure we'd all be complaining if we could have just one quick refresher night with Dave Allison at the helm again, racing putnamville back them required petrolium jelly.

Re: Lincoln Park Speedway-Thursday Night Sprints
Maybe the track will have lots of water this week instead on the hard lick surface,,i think they need to water the curb around the track really good...cause it dries out and the dust and dirt gets thrown out onto racing surface then it really gets slick

Re: Lincoln Park Speedway-Thursday Night Sprints
ok ok, he reeled in his "junk" comment, so let that one go. I hope everyone understands that you need to pick your level of racing, both for talent and finances. Some of the most fun racing you can see are those last features of the night, the street stocks, thunder cars, whatever you wanna call em, they are as serious as AJ Foyt out there, and you better not use that "junk" talk in the stands when all their kin and friends are still there rootin' them on. It's called the love of racing, some can afford to do it out of an 18 wheeler with spare everything on the walls and some do it on an open trailer and a spare tire or 2 from the junkyard. God Bless all you racers out there, thanks for entertaining us. bob:8:
