Marv Fish

Just read a post on facebook from Jude (I think that is his wife) that Marv collapsed yesterday while mowing the lawn and is in the hospital in a deep coma. She said on the post that was all the news she had at this time. Thoughts are with Marv.

Marv along with Danny Burton and Keith Wendel are the first frineds I made upon coming back to the short tracks after college graduation and the death of my dad. My racing friends are some of the very best there is and Marv pretty much heads the list. My thoughts and prayers go out to him.

So sorry to hear this - Marv always teased me for continually picking Dale Jr. on Trackforum's Nascar Pick 3 (he always picked J. J. Yeley).

Thoughts and prayers to Marv and family...

Mike Padfield called me a bit ago with this horrible news. I've yet to hear anyone say anything negative about Marv. Opinionated, yes, but always in a friendly way.

I love, admire and respect the man and pray that he overcomes this setback.

Prayers are for Marv and his family right now.

I talked with Marv Tuesday night, I was going to take him to the Prelude, But he could'nt go because he had to be at doctors from 10am until 2pm doing tests...I heard he came home and was cutting grass and a neighbor kids saw him collapse and from what i hear the emts were on hand almost immediately. All of us at his second home "Lawrenceburg Speedway" are praying for him and his wonderful wife Judy!!

just logged on and saw this awfull post. My heart just about stopped when i read the news ! met marv a few years ago and loved talking to him and his side kicks in the pits. He was one of the people i wanted to see when i returned from florida and we had a great talk last Sat night at the burg. I am praying for him and his family and will continue with the hope of a recovery and seeing him back enjoying the sport he so loves. God bless him and his wife at this time.

I pray that Marv makes it through this. There's not a more distinguished, classy and universally well respected race fan, in our part of the racing world, than Marv Fish. Kind of like Tony said, Marv has one of the keenest senses of humor of anyone I've ever met. His wry and self deprecating wit, along with his genuine friendliness always makes an evening watching the races with him a pleasurable experience. Hang in there buddy, you've got a lot of people pulling for you.

Jerry

This was posted on facebook from a lady this afternoon

***Marv Fish UPDATE*** I just came back from CVICU @ Univ Hospital. His nurse said they expect him to be in CVICU several days. Marv's in a drug-induced coma--his body's in less stress than if he's awake. His body temp is very cold which protects his brain & his heart during the initial healing process. Per the Respiratory Therapist he's on a special oxygen respirator.
PS: I work at UC Coll. Med & can walk to the hospital w/o going outside.
