Thanks AMSA

Thanks AMSA, Mert and Jerry and the sponsor who put up the extra purse money for the winner of last saturday nights race. Even though we had a short car count you stuck to your word and paid out the 800 to win as advertized, thanks again and we will see you this weekend.

Does anyone have complete results from this race?

Are there many Hoosiers in S.E. Indiana running Mini Sprints these days? Waynesfield had a good car count but the majority of them were the typical cars you'd see there on any given race weekend.

If the FOZ cars that went to WF for the SpeedPartz sponsored event had gone to Twin Cities there still would have been only about a dozen cars at North Vernon.

Get the purses up a little bit you will see more cars....we are running our 1000cc mini sprint up at Montpelier this year and a few MMSA and AMSA races that are close.

Hard to beat getting paid the same for 5th (Montpelier) as 2nd at the mini sprint orgazations, and starting is the same as 5th in the mini sprints.

The more cars they get at Montpelier the better the purse....500-800 to win and 100-150 to start

Have heard good things about Montpilier but it is a haul for us.....an extra hour each way would negate any additional payout.

Wish there were more races at L-Burg this year.

For us it's a big part of the equation is going to be all about gas money.
And I fear that is going to hold true for a lot of un funded racers.

Same for us.....We are racing close to home and races that can at least pay for gas and expenses. When you leave a track with money ahead and not lost money between pit pass and gas money it always feels a little better

For us it's more about traveling an extra hour or so when there is competitive racing two hours up the road at Waynefield, which is a great track for the mini sprints and an excellent facility.

Twin Cities is close to us and we like the track.....but, I still have mixed feelings about what happened a couple of years ago with them cancelling races on us and then not running the 1000's at all last year.

For those who went on Saturday, what was the track like? Also, how was the catch fence?

BULL ....!!! Mason or Jerry would not pay that money for 8 cars...they don't want to pay that money on a full field.

Re: Thanks AMSA

The track was ruff on the bottom and dry slick from one line off the bottom to the top and dusty, three and four was comming apart and there was a bit of a hole down on the bottom. The catch fence is the same as it has been for years. The show moved along pretty fast, we were the 4 class to run and we were loaded and out of there by 11:45 or so and that was with us standing around talking for a while after the race.

Thanks for the info.....that fence is my biggest concern. A couple of years ago we got to see a compact go through it and end up in the woods. I really struggle with whether or not to run there.

Mason wouldn't honor his contract a couple of years ago.Jerry always ALWAYS paid the complete purse,I know because I was the one that counted it out.

The $800 to win was nice, but I have to question if they may have attracted more teams by paying $500 to win and beefing up the payout for the rest of the top 10.

Best regards to you and your other screen names and your significant other. This stuff is all in good fun so don't get so riled up.
