I thought Shane won a Midget race at Montpelier in 2005 with the old XR2 series, or was that possibly Jimmy Light?:6:

Re: Midgets Return To Montpelier Saturday, May 12
i think they split that race into two features. twin 25's or something like that but i don't remember who one them. Shane was there though. He and his dad helped me load my car after i flipped down the front stretch after breaking a rear axle in the second feature.

Shane Hollingsworth ran the Don Moore 10 Sesco that evening and ran second to Cottle. He tried every which way to get around him but Cottle held the bottom and won.

With every open wheel driver in the midwest driving a sprint car, it was time to go looking for somebody out there that has been successful, but hasn't been given an opportunity without bringing $$$$$$$$$$$$$ to the table. So.. I went hunting. I've hired a driver that has won more races than just about anybody driving open wheel cars today. He's from Kokomo, Indiana and has never driven a full midget. There are several videos of him driving on YouTube. He's been very, very successful driving race cars... one of the best, if not THE BEST regarding the cars that he drives. Who is it????

Re: Midgets Return To Montpelier Saturday, May 12
Don he is a great driver and I think one of those guys who when he decides to make the jump to midgets and sprint cars will have the same impact he has in the 600's. I told Nate a few years ago that when he makes the jump he will have the same success in the big cars with out a doubt.
Alway's fun to see who you put in your cars Don there is nothing more fun then watching these young guys get a shot. Best of luck and we will see you up there as we will have Dillon Welch in the 39 this weekend for the event. |
Re: Midgets Return To Montpelier Saturday, May 12
We are bringing the Stealth/Sesco Mopar for him. That car has won tons of races. Let this kid get comfortable and see what he does!

Re: Midgets Return To Montpelier Saturday, May 12
I don't know Nate nor am I aware of his previous racing career...but what I do know is that it is awesome to see an owner give somebody a shot...especially somebody who has hit the ceiling in what he is currently driving, regardless of what that is...there is a ton of talent out there in Micros, Lightning Sprints, Quarter Midgets, TQs and such that the world will never get to witness on a big stage because they never get a shot in something they can't afford to buy or lease....
On behalf of all the guys who are in or have been in that position, THANKS DON!!!!!!!!! |
Re: Midgets Return To Montpelier Saturday, May 12
