Lawrenceburg program speed.
I have been going to the burg for years. Since I was 3 and now I'm 27. I have never seen a program ran as speedy as last night at this track. 64 cars 12 races done by 10:30. Keep up the good work!

Re: Lawrenceburg program speed.
It seems to me that promoters are being more pro active on keeping the shows moving along which is awesome. Eldora was done by 9:45 Friday and last night and that makes everyone happy at all the tracks.. thanks guys

Re: Lawrenceburg program speed.
Could not agree more,Alot of people have some really messed up hours that we work and a quick show is a pleasure. Thanks Dave and your staff

Does the burg have a curfew?

Re: Lawrenceburg program speed.
They used too. I think it was 11 or midnight. Not sure if that is still in effect or not.

I have always said the race tracks that survive are the ones that don't drag out the show!!!

Re: Lawrenceburg program speed.
All tracks should run thier program assuming that they have a 11:00pm curfew. There is nothing better to keep everyone on tasks like a deadline. A couple of secrets. Start the race on time. I don't care what time you post as your starting time, just make sure that the first heat is on the track at that time. Timed intermissions. Many tracks now have electronic scoreboards with a clock function. When you go to intermission, tell us how long the intermission is going to be and the start the count down on the clock. When the clock reaches 0:00, the first main event should be on the track.

For years the mentality was that fans would watch the clock and feel like they hadn't gotten their money's worth if the show ended before 10. Now the entire operating staff (this includes competitors) are judged by the efficiency of the program. And getting a full night's worth of racing action in a shorter period of time is a major bonus. It keeps kids awake. It keeps adults awake. The promoter might lose a buck or two at the concession stand but hopefully it is recovvered at the front gate for weeks to come.
Its pretty nice of you to acknowledge the hard work at Lawrenceburg. Contacting the track directly certainly would let them know but expressing it here let's a lot more people know. Nicely done! Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Lawrenceburg program speed.
Thanks everyone, We have a great crew at Lawrenceburg all the way around and i am very proud of them. It also helps when we don't have red flags, and this season so far have only had one for a hornet rollover.
Our curfew is midnight, we like to keep things moving along and try to get everyone out at a decent hour. Thanks again for everyones involvement at Lawrenceburg Speedway. Dave |
Re: Lawrenceburg program speed.
I liked how after the Sprint B you guys went ahead and brought out the Hornet A. Thats a great way to keep the show flowing!

Re: Lawrenceburg program speed.
Amen to this post. Probably the best race night they've put on in a long time. I hope they noticed that there wasn't a stampede to the gate after the sprint feature this week. Hornets over the Minis is a huge upgrade. What a thrilling sprint feature!!!!!!!!!! Thought Damion was gonna join the battle too until his mishap. Can't wait to go again.:6:

Re: Lawrenceburg program speed.
This weekends race set a high bar on how a program should run. It's nice to go and get the race done at an early hour. It makes the drive back home much more enjoyable without fighting off sleep at the wheel. Great job Dave and crew!

Re: Lawrenceburg program speed.
Had my grandson with me and had a great time. His first trip to the Burg. he wants to go back. Driving home to Indy we got back at a decent hour. He didn't even sleep on the way home. The racing was fantastic. Thanks to all the Burg staff GREAT JOB.

Re: Lawrenceburg program speed.
It also would have been done 15- 20 minutes earlier if the Mods didn't have 100 caution's :3:, still got done at a great time. See you next week L-Burg :8:

Re: Lawrenceburg program speed.
Yeah, Im a fan boy but some facts.
They almost always start on time. Hotlaps 6pm and Races at 7. Track usually is prepped good and enough that it don't require three watering and raking sessions a night. Sometimes the fastest laps of the night are in the feature. When the track widens out, there are less wrecks and when there are wrecks its one or two cars, Not five or six. Just one last chance to than the Burg Staff, The racers and teams that participated, In a GREAT NIGHT of racing! :8: I did look at the clock when we finished, it was 10:15 all classes finished. |
