Re: MMSA at Brownstown 4-28-12
Well, for now, I'm giving it a slim to none chance, that it won't rain, or at the best, be so miserable no one will want to sit in the stands, and have a cold breeze blow up their skirt all night, but I have been wrong before, only that time I was right, I just thought I was wrong! Bob!:5:

Looks like my car will not b ready untill later in the 2012 season I have not had enough funding to build the car the way it needs to b built to compete and win in the best mini sprint division around !! I encourage everyone that owns a mini all the best.... "In whatever series you run" be safe, respect one another and ultimately have fun . That's what it's all about .

Re: MMSA at Brownstown 4-28-12
I think we're going to pass.....looks like rain moving back in around dinner time. Just can't justify driving 2 hours with gas at $3.70 a gallon to turn around and go home again.
Good luck....I hope you get it in. |

Re: MMSA at Brownstown 4-28-12
I was watching the radar and you could see a big storm headed straight towards Brownstown around 7:30, looked nasty.
What was the total car count? |
Re: MMSA at Brownstown 4-28-12
12

They didnt cancel because it was not rainning when we started racing. We got all but three heats in before it hit. We have waited the rain out before an finished racing but the radar showed another band of rain coming in behind the first one. If we had of cancelled then people would have been on here complaining about us not running because it wasnt raining. |
All you can do is try, sometimes it works and sometimes it does not . It would be a tough job being a promoter with weather forecast and making decisions and tryin not to tick people off.. Can't make everyone happy ;( welcome to Indiana weather

Re: MMSA at Brownstown 4-28-12
It's tough to make a call like that. Especially when you have commited to racing and you have people at the track.
At around 3:00pm I considered hooking up the trailer and heading out.....then I checked the weather channel and I have to admit they were spot on with their forecast. They showed rain starting again around 6:30 and a couple of nasty storms not long after. It just looked like one of those days when it could rain anywhere at anytime. |
Will we just have a double feature on the next date since our heats were completed?

Re: MMSA at Brownstown 4-28-12
The Brownstown website says the program was cancelled, I will contact track officials on monday for exact details, but, I suspect this means no makeup feature, save and use your wristband for pit admitance for the MMSA race on May 19th and there will be no pill draw fee for the cars that paid last night.
Check the MMSA website next week for updated information. Bill May |
Bill, any update on scheduling more non winged races?

Re: MMSA at Brownstown 4-28-12
Great to see all the new cars out Saturday night at Brownstown. Bloomington and Brownstown on May 18th and 19th will definitely be the place to be with the Lightning (mini) sprints. I agree with nice weather and all cars showing up we should have at least 20 or 25 cars.
