You will find good racing at either place, which one is closer?

wildman92 4/8/12 1:51 PM

I'll be at Bloomington. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't more excited about the ice cream than the racing. But both are excellent!

For me its Bloomington!!!! No contest, better food, better track prep, bleachers at Gas City are TERRIBLE, Bloomington is very comfortable! Pass the USAC shows at Gas City as the track prep always sucks!

treecitytornado 4/8/12 2:46 PM

As a driver or a fan, I would choose Bloomington! Miss racing there for sure!

Really? I could have sworn I've seen some great racing at GC. I thought I enjoyed the food as well. My bad.

Seriously, I love both places.

Bloomington! Gas City is just way too far from Evansville, plus I love the atmosphere at Bloomington with Shortbus and all the gang on the first turn hill!

Bloomington, I dont think I will be back to Gas city after Sprintweek last year!

PIT CART 4/9/12 3:30 PM

The last four races at Gas City last year was some of the best racing I seen all summer. Good track prep and the show didn't drag on. JMO

I can turn left to go to Gas City after work or turn right to go to Bloomington, and most Fridays I turn left and go to Gas City.

Bloomington sure looks good when you get there, but that is about as far as it goes. Huggie poll around the bottom, and speeds so slow in the corners you can read Hoosier on the tires. Sure Bloomington is more comfortable, because everyone is up the road at Gas City. I wish Gas City would run every Friday night this summer. Just my two cents....

Re: bloomington or gascity 4/13/12

Guys we have 2 GREAT tracks that run Friday nights, must we try to throw buckets of crap at the one you dont usually go to? Keep it up and we wont have a Friday track to go to. Real smart:7:

"Sure Bloomington is more comfortable, because everyone is up the road at Gas City" BTW that wasnt advise it was a bucket of crap. Now if you explained why you like GC better THAT is advise. I go to both of 'em

Opening night and Friday the 13th all packed into one. Fasten your seat belts. :)
And please, which ever track you go to, take a little bit of it in for me. I've got to work and can't go to either.

I was at Bloomington last night doing some work and the place looks incredible. Lots of new additions for both the fans and racers. If not this weekend, then sometime this summer, I encourage everyone to come to Bloomington and enjoy a race. And please visit Gas City sometime as well. Both do their best to put on a quality show could use our support.

I will agree with the ones on here who say how lucky we are here in Indiana to have a choice, and not only a choice on Friday nights, but Saturday & Sunday too. There are NO race tracks in Indiana anymore who put on a sub-standard show, so I think my best advice will depend on distance to the track (exceptions for special shows). Save money when you can and go to the closest racetrack, then use your "saved" money to travel to the big shows. Plenty of time this season to hit em all. ...and to answer the question, it's Bloomy for me, only 40 minutes from work and I love the view. See you at the races, bob:22:

Oh to live in the Land of Wingless Sprint car Milk and Honey and have this dilemma. I'd be darn happy to have either one to go to on a Friday night! Enjoy! :6:

Looks like I'm not going to be able to come to Bloomington tonight. I had a rather serious gastrointestinal issue that caused my blood pressure to drop drastically and required a stay in the hospital from early Wednesday until yesterday afternoon. Still on the puny side, so I need to rest. My racing season is off to a very slow start.

Due to a change in plans, I'm headed to Gas City!

That's good news, before the change I wasn't going anywhere.

Get well soon, Ron. Do what you must to get back behind the wheel again. Have my own little adventure coming up on April 23, which knocks me out of THAT on the 22nd. (Think prep for an invasive procedure---without giving out TMI).
