Help Needed

Last year during Indiana Sprint Week, the Hoffman Racing Team gave away samples of Mean Green their sponsor for the sprint car. Just this past weekend I finished using that bottle and I want to purchase more. I have tried all of the big retailers in this area and most haven't even heard of Mean Green.

So with that in mind, I went to their website. They have a place to contact them with questions. I completed the information requested and when I post my question, it won't allow me to submit it saying "please enter your comments or questions". Any information would be helpful. Thanks.

That was my first stop Dan. I thought I remembered seeing an ad that included Mean Green. At least they had heard of it but the clerk said that they don't carry it here.

I also tried Lowe's, Menard's, Kroger, Meijer's, Target, O'Reilly's and Family Dollar with no success.

Mike,

I went on Dollar General's website, and they do carry it. As a matter of fact, we recently received some coupons for Mean Green in a circular sent through the mail. Don't remember though if it was a particular store, or was from P & G.

I know. We were working on the awning on our motor home yesterday trying to get the grime off. I used up the last of the bottle and drove over to get a refill. Tried to find a replacement and couldn't come up with anything. I was forced to use a different product and it was no where near as effective as Mean Green. That is a great product and I will continue to look for it. At least half of the awning looks good.:3:

When I find it, I will pick one up for you as well.

Re: Help Needed

I will be glad to help IOWers support sponsors (and clean stuff). The Dollar Generals in Springfield carry it. If you continue to have problems, let me know when racing season begins in Indiana and I will bring some over if you are going to be the same place I am. The first race I plan to come to is the No Way Out 40 if it isn't snowing.

Check out Walmart.com to see if your local store has it in stock, most in Evansville/Princeton area say they do!

I didn't even think about Walgreens. I have one nearby and I will check it out first thing in the morning. Thanks Keith.

If I don't find it I will let you know Dan. It is great stuff and I wasn't expecting a problem finding it.

I bought mine at WalMart in Normal, IL. I was surprised to find any, because I was sure it had all been used to "clean up the Governor's Mansion" over here in Illinois.

Thanks to all of you for your interest in Mean Green. One of our objectives in activating the sponsorship is to increase brand awareness. It looks like that is working. The next objective is to increase distribution at retail. Mean Green is currently available at Walmart, K mart and most dollar channel stores. One way you can help is by asking the store manager to carry Mean Green.

We will be sampling again this year at selected races, check our web site and here on IOW. Please let Mean Green know that you appreciate our sponsorship and are using their product.

Re: Help Needed

As Paul Harvey used to say, "Now for the Rest of the Story".:3: I haven't tried Wal Mart or K-Mart so they might have it here locally I don't know. The other locations that I tried don't carry it.

This morning I stopped at Walgreen's here in Anderson since Keith said that is where he found it in Cincinnati. I spoke to a lady who has been there since they opened and she said that they don't carry it in their stores in Anderson. She said that different stores carry different brands. She said that she gets hers at Dollar General across the street. I told her that I went to the new Dollar General across town and that they didn't have it. She said she was sure that they did at this one since that is where she buys hers. She said that it works great and she wishes that Walgreens would carry it here locally.

So across the street I ventured and lo and behold they carry it both in the spray bottle as well as the gallon refill. I spoke with the manager and she said that not all Dollar Generals carry the same merchandise. She said that they have had it for a long time but other locations might not carry it. Who would have thought that?:14:

I also had an e-mail from Checker'd Past and he said that they have it at Dollar Tree here in Anderson as well. So now I have a couple of places to find it. Thanks to all for your recommendations and posts. I certainly didn't think it was going to be this tough finding such a great product.

If you can't find it, I would ask the store manager if they can get it. The worst that they can do is so no. Happy hunting.:3:

Leave it to the better half to come up with a new nickname.:3: I appreciate you finding it and will gladly take it if it is an extra. I wasn't worried about the price so much as what it was going to cost me in delivery charges.:15::19::39::5:

Will the Mean Green hurt paint? I got some to clean the racecar with. I assume it won't because the Hoffman guys probably use it, but I want to make sure.

The bottle says it is not recommended for coated or painted surfaces. I personally haven't tried it on painted surfaces but since the manufacturer doesn't recommend it, I wouldn't try it.
