Non Wing Sprints - Danville, IL - Friday, May 16th
 

I spoke to Phil Richardson at Vermilion County Speedway late this afternoon. He is looking forward to the first non wing sprint show at Danville this season. Mother Nature is making sure there will be plenty of moisture in the track tonight, but the rain is suppose to end around 11pm tonight. Tomorrow the weatherman is calling for partly sunny and a high of 71.

Phil plans to have the drivers meeting around 6:15 (7:15 Indiana time), put heat in the sprint motors immediately following the drivers meeting...followed by hot lap sessions for all three divisions.

$100 tow money if you don't transfer
$15 adult / $30 family / $5 students / under 12 free


This year's non wing sprint dates are:

Friday, May 16th
Friday, June 13th
Friday, July 25th
Friday, August 29th
Friday, Sept 5th

Hope to see lots of Indiana and Illinois non wing sprint car fans and drivers in attendance. I am glad to see Phil has decided to continue what the late Bill Nelson began last season, giving the non wing sprints another place to race.

clarify: vcs has two gates front gate $15 adult or family pass 2 adults and all kids you want to bring 18 and under $30 All pit passes are plus $15 each. thanks phil

i don't really have a update other than me & dad drove up and we looked from the road and a guess of maybe 12-15 sprint cars so we opted out and turned around and came home .. was this a mcsc event? counting everything in the pits maybe 50 -60 in all classes i could be wrong but thats the way it looked .we was there at 7:30 est. so i am assuming that was all they were gonna get. have a good day...

Not a MSCS event, kinda why I didn't go, if that was the Sprint count really glad I didn't

Right now the Modified feature is on the track and about six laps in. Josh Eads is leading. Kent is running third.

Dan do you know of anyone that went to Danville tonight? I know Mr. Pretty from Oakland City Hud Cone went. I was just curious if you had heard anything yet?

Twenty three sprint cars. Jon Sisco won the A-main. They started all twenty three. No dust. The racing was two and three wide all night.

I don't have any other results. I was a little busy.

Hud led quite a bit of the feature. He and Jon had a great battle, but Hud slipped up over the top of turn three and dropped back to about sixth.

Kenny Niflis started 7th. and was running third before he fell out with mechanical problems

Kenny started 7th in feature and was up to 3 rd about to get 2nd and motor problems with 7 laps to go and motor lost power maybe next week better luck , he has been running great the last couple of weeks , took a couple of weeks to get going different team and car but were getting hooked up good and working good together , should get first feature win soon :Steer:checkered:
