Larsen Going?

Will Kyle Larsen and Keith Kunz be at the Gold Crown Midget Nationals? They could all but wrap up the USAC Midget title.:8:

They are already on the pre-entry list for the Gold Crown.

They are racing for the midget championship, he is only 16 points back.

Re: Larsen Going?

Why wouldn't he be there? He has been at all the other USAC midget races.

LocalYokel 9/26/11 4:44 PM

I realize its going out on a limb here, but I have a gut feeling he might just win the Saturday night main event. He'll probably pick up a win one of the other nights also... I know he's a longshot, but I think he might just get lucky... haha

I'm kinda thinkin' there's probably around 52 other drivers that would just as soon Mr. Larson have to run and win those races before we just automatically hand him the trophies when he signs in at Granite City....:17:

Id love to see someone challenge him, but the kids too hot! Enjoy it while you can we'ere seeing history in the making! Seriously though, he's a lock to win at least one night. No ones going to just give him the victory, but they're going to have to fight to take it from him.
I'm usually doubtful about new guys in general, it takes me a while to warm up to them. I love to pull for the underdogs, or the veterans, Darland, Coins, T-Hines. Im just amped on the kid, I don't mean any disrespect to anyone btw. :)
This time though, my ass is planted firmly on the Kyle Larson bandwagon. Pretty soon, when he's famous in NASCAR land, and too important to be associated with any of us, ill be proud to say I was a fan from the begining.

If so we'll have to buy Kyle Larson a few to weight him down a bit so the others have a chance :D:D:D:D:D:D

Before you wrote this post, you must have sat down and thought "Alright, what words must put in one short sentence to convey the fact that I know absolutely nothing about this event.":3:

Care to wager? I'll bet it is closer to 45 than it is 20.Been going to a lot of races, and I could use some extra cash.

IDK, Darren Hagen sure had the place figured out last year. :9:

pretty sad that we're at a point of the season that in which Larson would run 2nd to someone it almost seems like a disappointment lol

Sorry fellas, but No Man's Land tacos are this coming weekend.
But, I'll go ahead and pick up a few if ya don't mind em bein a little cold:5:

....and don't get me wrong, I'm not anti- Kyle Larson at all. He's a helluva talent without a doubt. But my weekend at the races won't be completely ruined if he doesn't win em all. :19:

And I dont care who wins as long as its good racing.

I agree with Morty. Kyle Larson has had one of the best overall years anybody has ever had. But he hasn't dominated any one division. Last time I checked, he was still behind both Clauson and Hagen in USAC points. And he's ran all the races, just like they have. So those two guys sure as hell aren't going to just lay down and let Kyle go by. Clauson's still the USAC Midget champion until somebody can take that away from him. And people who went to all three midget events here last year, know that those two are fast as hell on and know how to win this track. As great as both of them, Jerry Coons and others were in the midget classic that took place at this event last year, Steve Buckwalter was the one that emerged from the fantastic melee that was the first 20 or so laps of this race. He looked to be the man, but had his heart broken, as his car broke on the backstretch, shortly afterwards. Add to that Brad Sweet, who is at the very top of his game, right now. He'll be there for one reason. He'll be there just to win and could give a rat's ass about points.

All I'm saying is that if you go there (or don't go) thinking the outcome and the racing at this track will be predictable, I'm telling you, this place will make you look like a fool.

I just watched the feature from last year's final again on USAC's site, and what a race. I'm getting excited, I hope the weather is good. Thanks to the Gundakers for putting this on, it truly is one of the best events of the year. Pretty tough to pick a winner. Larson, Clauson, Hagen, Coons, Sweet, Buckwalter, Loyet just for starters.

There are 57 cars pre-entered and the list is still growing. Looks like a huge field.

If Kyle is racing in the Fall Nationals at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, that's this weekend, same days as the midget races in Pontoon Beach.:41::
