Directions to haubstadt

Never been there, always wanted to go. Can anyone give me exactly where in Southern Indiana this track is, and the best way to get there from the Dayton Ohio area.

Fremont and the All-Stars are only two hours away, and I'm guessing Haubstadt is about 4 hours, and I know better than to ask everyone on this board where I should go, LOL.

The track is on US41 about 20 miles north of Evansville. Your best bet would probably be to take I70 through Indy to Exit 7 (Terre Haute), which is US41 and drive about 90 miles to the track. US41 is four lanes all the way but the speed limit varies and it is patrolled pretty heavily. Not really a bad drive, though.

I am in columbus, oh and usually go 71 to 64 in louisville to 41. It usually takes me 5.5 hours. However, the 64 bridge in louisville is closed and traffic is a mess. I would go northern route.

Tommy, I would go southwest on I71 to lousville Ky and pick up I64 west. Get off on rt 41 and the track is 2-3 mi north. Avoid Indy and Terre Haute at all costs.

John,

You don't want to go near Louisville now! The Sherman Minton bridge is closed and traffic has been backing up as much as 20 miles. I don't have that much of a problem with Indy and Terre Haute, although the construction on I70 may cause some slowdown. But, that is really about the only feasible route, and the one I will be taking to go to Eldora.

Totally agree about avoiding louisville. Traffic on the weekends will likely be bad

With the UNMITIGATED traffic disaster of the I64 bridge shutdown, you are looking at a 6 hour minimum drive either way you go. That is if you go by the posted speed limit. ;)

The route through Louisville would normally be the quickest, if it weren't for the detour and traffic nightmare in Louisville. It is a total freakin' mess, worst detour I have ever seen.

There is construction in both Indy and Terre Haute, but in my opinion, 70 west to 41 south would be by FAR the quickest and best route unless you plan on going through Louisville at 3am.

You can do a Google map from Columbus to Haubstadt with either of the two routes, but don't forget to add a minimum of an hour getting through Louisville, IF YOU ARE LUCKY!

How about I-70 to 465 S then I-65 S to I-64 W This gets you past the bridge problem and out of the Indy mess.:6:

It's already been said, but take it from somebody who crosses from Louisville to Indiana and back every day: don't do it. lol Louisville/southern Indiana interstates are sucking majorly right now (and apparently for months to come)

What Dennis says. Stop in Columbus, IN. Spend lots of money. :D

j/k, but you can take I-465 around the SE side of Indy and hit 65 south. At New Albany, take 265 west to 64 west.

You miss most of Indy and all of TH.

If you decide to come on I-70 West thru Indy,an alternative to going to Terre Haute is,go to exit 41 and go south on 231 to 67 which runs right into 41. Thats how we went to Haubstadt for sprintweek, and it was a pretty decent drive, and I think we made good time both to and from Haubstadt.

you all are awesome, thanks for so much input. This sounds a lot farther than I was anticipating, may just stay closer to home and do Fremont since my daughter is coming home from college. This definitely sounds like a hotel stay to me, I got over getting home at 4am a long time ago! Thanks again!

You're better off just Google mapping directions with everyone throwing in their input. And its not even close to a 6 hour drive like one poster said. 5 and a half at the most. And dont forget Haubstadt, IN is on Central Time.

i live in terre haute & once you get off i 70 it will only take about 10 minutes to go through the so end of town on us 41.trust me you will not be sorry.it is a 95 mile trip from where i get on 41. Once you leave terre haute there are only 5 stop lights until you reach the track. :31: :31:

pammie 9/15/11 8:41 PM

I live about 2 miles from 265 and about 1 mile from 65 and the traffic is not bad on the weekends only during the weekdays during rush hours. Plus they have added more lanes 2 help with the traffic flow.
