Any USAC drivers at Belle-Clair?

Does anyone know if any USAC regulars are running the POWRI midget race at Belle-Clair (Belleville, IL) this Fri May 10?
I know Jerry Coons shows up frequently.
Thanks

Actually, POWRi will be at Granite City Friday the 9th with the WoO, and Saturday at Little Belleville.

Perhaps, some of those who don't participate in the USAC National Sprint series. The sprints will be in action Fri 5/9 @ Bloomington and Sat 5/10 @ Eldora.

Yeah this weekend is full of action........

Fri. WoO/Powri @ Tri-City
USAC @ B-town

Sat. WoO @ Paducah
USAC @ Eldora
Powri @ Belle-Clair
MSCS @ Haubstadt

I'm settling for Paducah on Sat. (runs and hides now!)

Saturday I'll be at Little Belleville, even if Morty isnt there, and Petey must have got some bad beer or something to alter his thinking.

Naw, Andrew. Petey has been a closet wanged fan all along.
He attempts to hide that fact along with the fact that he would skip a USAC sprint car race at Haubstadt to attend the regular Saturday night show at Florence :rolling
Until you've set next to Petey at Haubstadt, with his goggles, his floppy hat, and a hair net on his beard, you have not yet watched a race in the company of a fan who really comes prepared for dirt tracks.
JK, Corey. Long time, no see.

He's set next to me at Haubstadt, but I dont think he had all that gear with him. Maybe the floppy hat for after the shine ran off the top of his head.

I dont mind watching wings if theres nothing else on,but this weekend theres plenty of the real adventures to go watch instead. How can you give up what you know will be a good race at Little Belleville or Haubstadt (Fairly hard decision to make there, but I fell in love with Little Belleville at first site) to go watch the WoO which will probably be a single file no passing affair?

You of all people should know the kind of action that Paducah produces ASQ... I'm pretty sure I saw the POS van there!? Lasoski came from 15th to win it last April in the frostbuster. McCarl charged from the tail to a top ten run, same for Meyers. I would agree that there are a plethora of choices though, and wholeheartedly agree that 'lil Belleville rocks.

Note ChillyW (who doesnt take phone calls these days it seems) that I had the PMP van at Paducah last yr,and only because there was nothing else on to go see otherwise! Paducah actually wasnt to bad last yr,and also Bulls Gap. If they were more racy like those two were,I might venture off more often to watch them.

When are you gonna head out from the state of once a week racing, and venture over to Indiana,ChillyW??? Been ages since you have been over here, and you might have gotten married in the meantime!

Hey Steve that night your thinking about it was just a little dusty but the racing was awesome! Briscoe and Levi duking it out (with Sciscoe and Cummins in tow) in the first Hoosier Sprint Nats., will definitely remember that night. Haven't the need for those glasses at Haubstadt lately as Helfrich keeps the place in pristine condidition. Still bring that hat though that thing is like a trademark of sorts like my beard.:O:

Hope things are well with you and Grandma Kim!

Haven't been to Belle-Clair now for right at two years. Will try to hit the Arnie Knepper race in Aug. As for Haubstadt you guys know I'll be there a few times this year! Was ready to go a few weeks ago but those dang rainshowers put a hamper on that.

I'm thinking long & hard at heading to IN the week before the 500 - Terre Haute Thurs, Gas City/Bloomington/Hoosier 100 on Friday, Night before the 500 Saturday at IRP, Indy 500 Sunday, and Kokomo/Sun Prairie on Sunday night. The weather will be a huge factor...

If you think you can get from the 500 to Sun Prairie in time for a race you must have your own jet:D

Might as well add in Anderson on the Wednesday night, and Haubstadt for your possibilities on Sunday night.

Re: Any USAC drivers at Belle-Clair?

I didn't know that Indy was that far from Sun Prairie, oops!? I love Haubstadt, but Kokomo would be more economical since I'd be driving solo. Two other guys from here can't get off work on Thurs/Friday - just heading out Friday after work, sooo. Any lurkers from Central Iowa that would up for the Terre Haute/Bloomington/IRP/Indy/Kokomo combo, please stand up!

Re: Any USAC drivers at Belle-Clair?

Just think ChillyW, you'll get 5 weeks worth of racing in 5 nights if the weather is good!

In the meantime,I'm just counting the minutes down to this Saturday night for POWRi midgets at Little Belleville.

Re: Any USAC drivers at Belle-Clair?

Well ASQ that dreaded "R" word may make it's prescence known again in the midwest this weekend.

If Paducah gets rained out then I'll look at either Haubstadt or Belle-Clair but I do want to get to a race this weekend.
