Tim is a nervous wreck about this race at Brownstown tonight, Even if you have to sign up for my message board just to post once...please show your support.

Lets get this show in, and make it the biggest and best Sprint Car show ever ran at Brownstown Speedway.

If we end up racing, ill run backwards around the track or something.

There is no reason to worry:

1 you are one of 4 tracks within 60 miles of each other running sprints tonight

2 the KY Derby

3 Tim's locals will not come out to see this show when JR and NASCAR are on free tv

4 COLD WEATHER

5 the reputation of being a stock car track that is hard and slick

I know this will light up a few of you and the promoter will get a false since of support when he reads your posts

Bottom line put on a package of hot dogs, a bag of Microwave popcorn , and a 2liter of coke and open the concesion stand.

Sunday AM Tim will be asking "WHAT WAS I THINKING"

Tim wanted to know exactly what kind of support he will get.

Feel free to call him up at 812-569-1982, he said he will answer any calls made to him. Thats why his number is made public for everyone.

Here is what I wrote on the Brownstown message board...I believe with all my being that if Tim shows a profound determination from this point forward to get this race in, he will be rewarded with a sure home run. Here:

To whom it may concern,

On behalf of the throngs of Indiana Sprint Car racing fans, I implore you to do everything in your power to get tonight's event in. Let me put it to you as simply as I can...People are starved for racing in the state of Indiana right now (as well as those coming from Kentucky, Illinois, Ohio, etc.). Even with inclement weather, if you do not waver, and you persevere through whatever weather we get this afternoon, you will be rewarded with a large back gate, and a packed house. Waffling about getting this show in is not the way to go. If you resolve yourself from this point forward to racing tonight at all costs, the people will spend the gas money to come from long distances, and they will wait through any amount of rain to see racing tonight. If you don't have a curfew, run the show into the wee hours if you have to, but be determined to get this show in no matter what, and the people will come. So will the race teams. GUARANTEED. Everyone wants to go racing tonight. EVERYONE. Please do not let us down. We all beg of you...

I got a gauge on some drivers at Bloomington, and im expecting at least 40 cars.

On an unrelated note, I just watched the entire 500 Mini Marathon...lol Great finish as one guy tried to cut off the other at the finish, and some elbows were thrown

As of 9:15 and a phone call from Tim, they are out on the facilities getting everything ready for tonights USAC, UMRA, and NeSmith Crate action.

I stopped by the track last month, the day before the Icebreaker, and had a chance to speak briefly to Tim. Keep in mind, that was the week when there was serious flooding in the area and the track was underwater earlier in the week. I was amazed to find little evidence of the flooding - the track was ready for racing. I don't think the rain received last night will cause a major problem (the parking areas may be a little juicy).

As for the "4 tracks within 60 miles running sprints tonight", Paragon isn't running tonight and Putucky & Waynesfield have already pulled the plug - can't imagine North Vernon pulling any of the heavy hitters away.

The sun's breaking though the clouds here in Louisville - LET'S RACE!!!

We're definitely going. I stopped in at the Action Track yesterday and talked to Bob, Monica, Roger and Sheri. They're all going and were talking to someone, on the phone, who was there at Brownstown marking off seats for them. John Hoover called me this morning and he's also going. So is his friend Steve. So there's at least 10 that I personally know of. Don't worry about it, Chris. It's a USAC race. Look at the races at Kamp Motor Speedway last year. That's tin top territory, big time. Both of those events were in the middle of the week. Each had threatening weather and the crowds were great.

I've only passed through Brownstown two or three times on my way back from Eldora while sight seeing. I know very little to nothing about the place but I hope everything is a success tonight. Is that good enough?

After reading all of the posts about tonight's race it sounds like it was a big success. Thanks to Oakhurst for his updates and to Mr. Harrison for the results. Keep up the good work Chris Nunn and I hope the promoter is happy. Tried to register on the track board but had some trouble. Good luck to you Chris and the track this year.
