Good heats with no yellows!
Anyone know who the car owner is for the 51 that casaey shuman is wheeling? And what happened to the 4g ride? Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Putnamville updates
It was a real buzzkill when Braylon broke, because a real battle between he and Kyle was beginning to unfold. Once that #3 car was out of the picture, it was a done deal, because nobody else had anything for Cummins. He was up there on the top shelf and was just flying! The battle behind the leader involving Shuman, Gaines, Christian and others was a good one and lasted for most of the last half of the race.
I also stayed for the modified race, as the field was stacked with a lot of regional stars. And for the most part is was really worth it. Denny Schwartz and the 7 car, who I think is Richie Lex, battled furiously for most of the feature, until Lex jumped the cushion and dropped back several spots. Brian Hayden had a good first handful of laps, coming from the 7th row up to 6th, before having to go to the back, after having to go to the work area following the red flag. Kenny Carmichael also made a real good accounting of himself, by battling his way up through the loaded field, as well. It was another great night at the track. The program was ran well. They had over 120 cars total, between the 4 classes and I left after the second feature and was still on the road before 10:00. And also, I finally got to meet Joe Wisler for the first time. Thanks to K.O. for that. Jerry |
Does any one have complete results?

Re: Putnamville updates
K.O. did stay to watch the full night of racing, all classes.
:35: ps Last feature was over at 10:47 |
Re: Putnamville updates
Agree with the above post that once Braylon F. went out it was pretty much a done deal. It was going to be a battle for 25 laps between the 2 of them. Mod feature was also a good race. Hated to see the #90 go out on the 1st lap, think he would have added another piece to the battle. Left the track at 10:05 and was in the garage in Aurora at 12:25. Good night of racing.:8:

Re: Putnamville updates
@Jerry- It was good to finally get to meet you. I enjoyed talking with you.
Tonight, I sat on the hill the entire night. I don't think I had done that since I was a little kid watching Dad race. It's such a different perspective, and it gave me the chance to meet and talk to a lot of people. I really enjoyed myself. One of the coolest things of the night was hearing that Kent Christian had sold about 40 t-shirts tonight. I wear mine proudly. I brought a buddy of mine from high school and his wife and their 3 kids, or you might say they brought me. They had never been to LPS. I believe they had a pretty good time, and they are already talking about coming back. I love it! I also sat with one of my sponsors Jordan Angle of Angle Buildings, and for the second straight night my buddy K.O.. All 3 kids made it through the night and were still picking their favorites during the bomber feature. As D.O. mentioned, K.O. stayed through all 4 classes. K.O. told me several times he just couldn't believe how hard those modified guys had to run their cars, and was he ever right. Some of the guys that like the dry slicky late model tracks weren't happy.:D The track stayed greasy all the way through the heats, and there was that left over spot from last week at the exit of turn four that kept biting cars all night. I'll say this though, the same guys that are the show at Putnamville every week, were the same ones that made it happen tonight. Kent Christian's pass for the win in his heat had everyone cheering. Shane Hollingsworth, pretty much all night, will put Oly's #34 where only men roam. Kenny Carmichael Sr. in his modified came from way back rocketing off of turn 2 every lap and smoking it into 3. Kenny Jr. in his super stock makes me want one again, because passing 2 and 3 cars at a time like he does is THAT much fun. And if you'll notice, none of these guys even won their features. The side by side fight for the lead and for 4th in the bomber feature was pretty good. You just knew Shoulders would end up in victory lane. I think I heard him tell Brad that was his 25th win. The kid's pretty good. I love driving and hope I do until they have to wheel me in and out of the nursing home, but when they do they better aim me toward the track. Tonight reminded me why people come sit on that hill every Saturday night. Have a good night everybody, and remember to supoort your local tracks! |
The track was like an X-Games track. The jump coming out of turn 4 either launched cars down the front stretch or into the wall

Re: Putnamville updates
I wasn't going to mention this, but since Great Scott brought it up I would like to make my comment. I am not and don't claim to be a track prep person, however when I arrived at LPS last night and the person running the track in with the white piece of equipment looked to be hot lapping I thought this is not helping the surface at all. There were a couple times he had it almost sideways and was hauling it down the straights. I only know that in the late 80's when I worked for Mel Johnson at L-Burg if I would have even came close to this I would have gotten a nice conversation and told to park the truck. However the racing was good and the guys did a heck of a job putting on a show.

Re: Putnamville updates
My wife and i were able to make it last night to LPS. It was her first time watching a race at LPS. Her and i both enjoyed the racing. Her disability limits her going to many races as its very hard for her to walk any incline or steps or sit on bleachers for any length of time. We were able to sit in lawn chairs and she was able to walk from the parking and also able to walk to the bathroom and concession stand without any problems since there were not inclines or steps. We both had a great evening.

Re: Putnamville updates
I don't think that the 3 car had enough to out run kyle in the 3c , the 3 car looked to me like the front of the 3 car was bounching around to much to keep it under control enough to get under kyles car . looked like the 3 car had a front left shock or something to loose on that corner . It would have been a good race though , sorry to see that happen would have been a heck of a finish , because braylon wasn't go easy . Great job guys Hell of a race and the crash on the checkered flag . wow !!! :8::9::22:
