WoO@ Bloomington, whos putin the wing on?
With the 360 Nationals in Knoxville and All Stars running at other places I look for there to be about 20 cars there.. Whos some of the local drivers puting the wing on for the packed house, sold out show at B-town? Chase Stockton and Briscoe.. Paul May... Etc.?
|
Would I be crazy to bring my 360 out? I can't make up my mind...

We will be there!

Re: WoO@ Bloomington, whos putin the wing on?
Rose, May, Sweet, Stockon, Ty Deckard, Briscoe, Kody Kinser, and Kurt Gross were all at the WOO race @ Haubstadt early in the year. Not sure how many will be with the wing this weekend. But, a few names to think about.

I was referring to S. Swindell not being there because he usually runs the 360 Nationals

Re: WoO@ Bloomington, whos putin the wing on?
Best paying show in IN all year and no IN non winged regulars are going to run it! Come on weld some wing spuds on and go racing. I just think it is funny how if the tables were turned for a big nonwinged race everyone always compains that the Woo guys won't take the wings off.
|
I miss the days when drivers like Darland, Jarrett, Pletch, Hewitt, Tony Elliott, Mike Mann, Joe Roush, Tony Ploughe, The Smith brothers, ect. would all put a wing on and compete aganst the All Stars or the Outlaws. You would hope that the non wing regulars would beat the wing regulars guys.

[QUOTE=Wallsracing;244236]just dont like wings...they are over priced...im not bashing anyone..:99::[/QUOTE
I am glad sprint car racing is alive and well. Wing or Nonwing. Good crowds at ISW and sounds like good at WOO. Could live in my state they race tin tops only and think NASCAR is a religion. Posted using Mobile Device |
Re: WoO@ Bloomington, whos putin the wing on?
Don't you have to by a WoO "membership", even if you're only racing for one night? I understand it covers some type of insurance, but it seems that adds to the cost for just one night.
Plus the fact that you need their spec RR tire and the left side tires for wings are different than left side tires for non wing. I'm not bashing, it just seems that it would be very expensive for a regular non-wing guy to race WoO for just one night. |
Re: WoO@ Bloomington, whos putin the wing on?
I love racing (period)
I am going to go catch the "show" and I hope the track is good enough for some passing to happen, it may not be as good as the non wing racing we are all spoiled by, but it is BLINDINGLY FAST! Good enough for me to pay to see them 2 or 3 times a year. I am guessing there will be "A new track record" somewhere in the low 9's or even high 8's, if the track has any grip come qualifying time? It will be hard for the local non wing guys to run with these WoO boys, but I will be rootin' for any of them (especially Chase) to sneak in there and take some of their Outlaw cash! And where are you guys getting that it is "Sold Out"? There will be a packed house, but unless I am missing something, Bloomington does NOT sell reserved seats? |
Re: WoO@ Bloomington, whos putin the wing on?
Wingman, you can always walk up the day of the WoO race at Haubstadt and buy a ticket. It's a real good crowd usually- the best of the year- and reserved seats sell out but not general admission. I've hit every Outlaw show they have ever had at Tri-State and never bought a ticket in advance except once years ago.

Re: WoO@ Bloomington, whos putin the wing on?
Used to go to a lot of outlaw shows when they started winged and non wing They are fast yeah but I got tired of the freight train and very few if any passes so I just don;t go anymore like the side by side back em in thats non wing

Re: WoO@ Bloomington, whos putin the wing on?
I was talking reserve section at Haubstadt. I know it has been sold out in the past for WOO. Anyway, it will be a great show at Bloomington. It will be a great show at Tommy's place saturday.

It would be awesome to see Stockton, Briscoe or Kody Kinser win this deal. Dont be surprised if Tony Stewart shows up, he has been running alot of wing sprints lately with Kasey Kahne even the weekends that NASCAR has been running.

for me to take my wife and kids it would cost 120.00 to see winged sprints not a good deal to me.

Re: WoO@ Bloomington, whos putin the wing on?
It will be a good show being on a 1/4. If i lived within 25 miles of Bloomington i would still head north to Gas City for the Hewitt qualifier.

Re: WoO@ Bloomington, whos putin the wing on?
Take your 360 and go. Its on a quarter so if the track slicks off you may have an advantage gettin the power to the track. If the track stays heavy your probably going to be out to lunch but you will never know unless you show up and give it a shot. Good Luck if you decide to.

Re: WoO@ Bloomington, whos putin the wing on?
I'm gonna try and make it... That's only if they are worried about the car count and allow us to run with a dished wing since we do not own any flat wings... It's a slim chance, but I'm gonna call monday and ask...

Re: WoO@ Bloomington, whos putin the wing on?
I, for one, can't wait! I've had this marked on my calendar all year. To see these guys run is always awesome, and to see them at Bloomington Speedway is a SPECTACLE. Tim Kaeding's pass for the win during the NST races was one of the ballsiest moves I've ever seen.
I'm guessing Joey's track record will stand. I'm hoping for good finishes for the 11, 6, and 6R. I'm not counting out Danny Smith. I'm hoping to see several of our Bloomington locals: 5, 48, 32, 4k, etc. And... I'm hoping it's successful for Bloomington Speedway so they will schedule them back. After all, running with the WoO was my childhood dream. Here's my $40, who wants it? |
Re: WoO@ Bloomington, whos putin the wing on?

Re: WoO@ Bloomington, whos putin the wing on?
Earlier in the year alot of people were posting this would be Steve Kinsers' retirement party (Announement). I don't think he is retiring anytime in the near future. :23: :22:

Re: WoO@ Bloomington, whos putin the wing on?
