There has been plenty of action with the blame game on the negative side. Let's see what everybody has to say when there is positive news.

My hat is off to USAC for doing this. I say they manned up and are trying to make it right so we need to give them credit.

I just hope they keep them doing it for the rest of the year and it isn't a one time deal.

JSBH03 7/8/11 11:09 AM

That's great. Of course I lost my ticket stub so I'm pretty much screwed.

Give the fans a good show and the drivers a good track Wed night and what happened last Sunday will be nothing more than a speed bump. Great job USAC!

Certainly a step in the right direction. Track prep to me is more important than the other things but USAC had to do something. I know that not all people who were at the Silver Crown race last Sunday will be able to return, but hopefully between the ISW date and the later sprint car date they can see some good racing at THAT.

This should also should be a relief to a number of folks who were either not going back or contemplating returning to Terre Haute. The track prep last year when Sargent and O'Connor where doing it was great. Here is hoping of a great night of racing.:6:

I wasn't planning on going back, but since I went to a race when the O'Conners did track prep, already seeing if I could get a vacation day on short notice. Hopefully I can.

That's good news on many fronts. Nice to see track prep will be in good hands. Also nice to see the issue was acknowledged and the fans get something as a bonus to make up for the deal. Have to give props when they are due just as criticism was given when it was due.

Re: Terre Haute---Great News

That's absolutely the best case scenario, the way this ended up. I couldn't have dreamed of a better resolution, for this matter. The best big track track prep guy (Sargent), teamed with one of the best track prep guys, period (Reese), coming in to save the day. Like they did before. Worrying about Terre Haute was the only negative coming into this Sprint Week, now that's off the table completely. Thanks USAC for doing whatever you had to do to resolve this problem. And also for recognizing how well the driver-fan interaction went the other day and doing something about that, too.:8:

The article also says they are working with the Vigo County Fair Board trying to get a date to reschedule the Sumar Classic Silver Crown Race. If they do get a date you can use your ticket stub for that race.

Re: Terre Haute---Great News

So do we still have to buy a ticket to get into the sprint week race if we have our tickets from the Sumar? If so it is a nice gesture getting a free shirt but that shirt prob only cost them $5-$7 ea. My ticket for sunday cost me $50. Their press relase is kinda vague just want a clairfication. Thanks

"Returning fans using the postponed ticket receipts for entry at the July 13th Indiana Sprint Week date at Terre Haute..."

I think the "for entry" part is clear enough. That's how I took it, anyway.

I learned long ago that lots of times, good things come out of bad things. Here is a fine example.

We criticize when things go wrong. May we praise when things go right. I hope this thread gets about 30,000 views with many responses.

Hats off to you USAC. You're trying and that's all anyone can ask for!

In essence, USAC is admitting they screwed up with the t-shirt deal. I think I feel better about them admitting to screwing up than I do about the free shirt.

Wouldn't miss the ISW race now. I hope there is as good or better crowd for Wednesdays show than there was for the Sumar, which was pretty good.

Thank you USAC! Every organization makes mistakes; all anyone (or at least most people) ask is that they learn from their mistakes and put forth an honest effort to set things right.

I just now called the USAC office, and they confirmed the Sumar tickets are good for ISW.

Kudos to USAC for stepping up, I think they realized they had major PR issues and they are making steps to repair their mistakes. The best news is about the track prep, the tee shirt is a bonus!

i didn't go to the sumar because i had no idea who was doing track prep, now i know its a sargent-o'connor effort for sprint week i won't miss it,i also will bring dad along.

Re: Terre Haute---Great News

I wasn't planning on going to ISW race even though I could go for free with the Sumar ticket. I am now as I just secured a vacation day for Wednesday. To say I am excited doesn't say it loud enough. I am always excited for a sprint car race, but one at my home track with the people who have prepped the track the best it had been in years, just adds to it. Add in the pit party and t shirt, I had my mind made up.

Good move on USAC's part. I was really doubting if it was worth the 2.5 hour drive back up there, however now there is no doubt that I will be there. Oh and thanks for the free t-shirt! Assuming the track prep is good (which I expect it to be) I think USAC did a good job of handling this deal and making it right for the fans.

Johnhunt 7/10/11 6:03 PM

Thinking of making my first trip to THAT. Any suggestions for a rookie?
