Toledo Speedway July 1st

Usac sprint/midget show and old timers with vintage cars on display Friday july 1st. usually one of the better pavement shows of the year. good way to start out the weekend!:23:

Re: Toledo Speedway July 1st

I wouldn't miss it! I hope that this not being on the National Sprint schedule doesn't hurt the car count too bad.

Re: Toledo Speedway July 1st

I'll be heading over tomorrow as well. I am hoping to see a decent turnout. Really need to get over early enough to check out those vintage cars.

Re: Toledo Speedway July 1st

they should have 20 sprints cars and i'm thinking more midgets. Toledo's site has a driver's list of who they expect.

That is a PROBABLE list. I would imagine some of the normally winged pavement racers will be in Wisconsin for the Must See races.

Although I would not let car count affect my decision to go to a race one hour from my house!

Re: Toledo Speedway July 1st

I dont want to down play this race at Toledo, because I like what usac is doing with the series right now, but your going to have Must see in Wisconsin and AVSS in Michigan on Saturday. Thats going to hurt the car count.

Drtchsr 6/30/11 4:57 PM

I'll be there no matter what the car count or the fact that it does not count toward my USAC triple crown total, plus it is on the way to Grundy County which is racing midgets Saturday

I'll take quality over quantity any time.

When I first started going (50's), they only started 12 in the feature anyway.

I'm not complaining. Glad to see Kody Swanson back in a car. Wease and Santos are here. Jacob Wilson has had some strong runs. Seeing the vintage cars is always a treat.

Gamester oiled down the track, I think it was a leak. Kody Swanson just hit the turn one wall.

I'd say Swanson is done for the night.

Re: Toledo Speedway July 1st

While I certainly respect the position of quality over quantity, I would suggest that economics also deserves some consideration. Strictly from
a viewpoint of a paying fan, $25 seems a little steep to watch a feature with 11 sprints cars and a feature with 16 midgets on a 1/2 mile paved track

johnnythunderhead 7/2/11 3:20 PM

Re: Toledo Speedway July 1st

looks as though the usac pavement sprint car series is all but dead, unless they either open it up to include super mods/ or ban the specialized pavement carts n run the dirt cars on pavement
