Injured driver

I know this is an open wheel website but we all hate to see any driver get hurt no matter what class they're running in. I received word tonight that Bomber driver Randy Charles was admitted to the hospital with a brain hemorrhage he suffered from his accident Saturday night at Paragon Speedway. His wife has asked for prayers for him.

I'm going to try to make it to the hospital tomorrow to visit him. He has a subarachnoid hemorrhage which from what I've read is a very serious condition. Thanks everyone for the prayers. Randy is a really nice guy. I hope he makes it through this.

No the accident your thinking of was the young kid in the pure stock feature. He was fine. Randy is a Bomber driver who was involved in an accident in turn 4 coming to the white flag in the feature. He tangled with another car and spun and was hit from behind by another car. He did walk away but went to the hospital after becoming ill Monday morning.

Saw Randy at the hospital. Good news is the bleeding in his brain probably won't require surgery. They are giving him steroids to help his brain heal. He will be in the hospital for a while so the doctors can monitor his progress. They have said he has a good chance of recovery and will likely be able to return to racing next year. I showed him this page at the hospital and he was happy to see all the support he had received from the racing community. Thank you all for your prayers.

Re: Injured driver

He'll probley be fine by the sounds of his latest prognosis, I'm shooting out all the good will thoughts I possibly can. That being said, I'm a atheist. Please dont hate cause of that. But I have no objection at all to tons of prayers and praying to god for him or anything else. To each there own, man I hope like all get out that his head dont end up like mine.

Today was not a good day for Randy. Nausea has gotten much worse. They are ordering another CT scan to see if his condition has gotten worse.

Great news Randy woke up feeling much better yesterday and today they are planning to release him from the hospital. Thank you for all your prayers. Everyone was wonderful from the safety crew who were on the accident scene within seconds of the accident to the doctors and neurologists at Community South. Randy is expected to make a full recovery and hopes to be back racing next year.

Re: Injured driver

Thank the Lord for the wonderful news. Sometimes we forget how much the people in the support classes sacrifice to be able to race and give a us a show that we shamefully sometimes neglect. I've seen posts on here about it is a good time to go to the car for a beer.
I understand it is not as excitening as sprint cars but people put their heart and soul into these classes and also take risks and it tears my heart out when i look in the stands and see people leaving in droves.
I understand but thanks for letting me vent.

Randy has a follow up appointment Monday morning. They are expected to clear him to return to his normal activities, however, I believe he is going to wait until next year to start racing again. He has been at the track every week since they released him from the hospital. We had all the drivers sign a get well poster for him courtesy of PandG Photos.
