Re: Rex Staton
I just left Rex at 10:30am. He is feeling a little better. He is facing some pretty big health issues. If he had insurance, he would probably still be in the hospital. He said thanks for all the well wishes. I will check back in with him this evening, and try to keep everyone updated.

Just left Rex at 7:30 pm. He is feeling a little better and thinks once the medication gets in his system, he will feel even better. This is a complication from the health problems he has been having for over a year. He told me he appreciates everyones concern.

Re: Rex Staton
Sexy Rex hope things work out for you.
Having spend 7 of the past 14 days in hospitals in Jasper, IN. and Indy being out of one is the best medicine you can get. The Williams family have you in our prayers. |
Re: Rex Staton
Rex went to his appointment this morning and they took him to the hospital right away. He had a long surgery this afternoon that went well, except for some complications. He is in ICU and they are keeping him heavilly sedated. Hope is to get him awake later tomorrow. He was alert enough to squeeze my hand as I passed on well wishes. He still has a long way to go. Thanks to all. Will update when able.
Hope you are felling better Danny. |

Re: Rex Staton
I just left Rex at the hospital. He is still on respirator and sedated. He rested the 4 hours I was there but opened his eyes and looked at me once while I was telling him about all of his friends asking about him and praying for him. He may have to have surgery again as they may have not have removed all of the infected areas due to being afraid he couldnt take a longer surgery. They are pumping him with antibiotics as he septic right now, getting his sugar down which is down in the mid 200's from yesterday 527, and giving him breathing treatments. Keep the prayers coming. I will sit with him tomorrow and give any more updates as they come. His fever is down to 98 from 104 this morning, so that is a good sign. Love to all.

Re: Rex Staton
Just left Rex after sitting with him for a couple of hours. They are trying to wean him off of the vent. He did really well on his first test and they are running a second now. He saw me for a bit and I told him that his race family was praying for his quick recovery. They keep him pretty sedated so he doesn't disturb the vent and he can get some much needed rest. The doc will be in later this evening to see if they can pull the vent out. The nurse says he has a long road to recovery so keep those prayers coming please. He is in ICU at St Joseph hospital. He can't have visitors between 2pm and 4pm. Thanks.
Sincerely, Asha |
Re: Rex Staton
Talked to Rex's nurse last night and the doc wants to keep him on the vent a bit longer. I will go visit here shortly and give any updates. Right now it's just mostly a waiting game to get the infection in his body under control. Continued prayers please.
Sincerely, Asha |
Re: Rex Staton
Brent and I just left ICU visiting Rex. Things are still pretty much the same. He is still on the vent and his temp around 100. He does open his eyes for a bit when I talk to him. I tell him about everyone asking about him and all the prayers. I can't wait for him to get off the vent so he can talk to me. Love to all and keep praying!

Re: Rex Staton
Left Rex at 5:30. He is still sedated and on the vent, but he seemed a little more alert. We couldn't stay long because when he hears familiar voices he gets excited and starts overbreathing the machine. He is holding his own. His temp is staying steady. Have been passing on well wishes. Thanks to all for the concern.

Re: Rex Staton
Thanks for the update Funkster, let him know he's sorely missed around the race track.

Re: Rex Staton
Will do Chris. I have mentioned your name a couple of times.

Re: Rex Staton
Left Rex at 5:45 on Weds. He is still being weened off the respirator, and the nurse said it was going well. He is still heavily sedated, but looked at us the whole time we talked to him. He still has a very long road ahead. Thank you to everyone for the concern.

Tell Uncle Rex Dave Sink said we need to get him well so we can make another trip to Oswego for the Classic in a few months.

Re: Rex Staton
Left Rex at 4:45 on Thurs. He is still sedated, but is more alert. He would move his head and follow you with his eyes when you spoke. Only stayed a few minutes as he gets excited and it messes up the machine. He still has a very long road ahead, but continues to improve. The surgeon said he is healing fine. Thanks to everyone the concern everyone has had, has been wonderful. Thank you everyone.

Re: Rex Staton
Left Rex at 5:00 Friday. He is still on the vent, but was alert and able to answer questions by shaking his head. He is aware of where he is ,and why he is there. Nurse is hopeful he will be off the vent in the next couple of days. Thank you for your concern.
|
Re: Rex Staton
Left Rex at 1:30 Sat. He was very alert, though still on the vent. He was happy that Josh Spencer had came by and left him a new t shirt. Tom Chalk and his daughter Jamie were there when we got there. Jamie is a case worker at the hospital, and she has went above and beyond to help Rex. Rex also liked the card signed by all the drivers. Hopefully he will be off the vent soon, and we can get him healed up and back to the track. He still has a long way to go, but is doing much better. Thanks to all for your concern.

Re: Rex Staton
I don't know Rex or Brent but I do know that having REAL friends will help a person through their problems be they physical, emotional or whatever. Just from what I've read here it's obvious that Rex is blessed to have a friend like Brent. Get well Rex and I hope to meet you both someday on one of my all too infrequent trips to Indiana.
