A couple of years ago we went into "buy here pay here car sales." The first thing you learn is nobody buy's a used car unless they are getting fired and being kicked out of their home and are being disowned by their family all at the same time. You would think that would make them hard to find however that is not the case now. All we have to do is go to the computer type in a few commands and see where our car is parked and go bring it home. We do this with a little box that costs about $250.00. If we want to we can even turn the car off. It takes about 45 min to install. The only thing is for a trailer you would probably want a seperate battery

Sprintman - Thank you! You can post phone number, we are okay with that!

DAD - That is awesome! Could be sooo useful in these situations, that we hope to NEVER encounter.

We figured the quicker we got the word out the better. Thank you everyone! :)

Not that it matters now, but I seen it everyday where it was parked for the last week next to Hoosier tire and I remember thinking to myself that I hope there are not cars sitting in the trailer, the way it was positioned you could see the #65 Silver Crown team logo on the back of the trailer from 136, I know that is why myself and so many others put NO Lettering on their trailers, all you are doing is attracting the Low Lifes that are driving around looking for something of value to steal.

I will keep a look out, if you have make a flyer up you can put one up in my restaurant in Brownsburg"Pit Stop BBQ & Grill"

Good Luck,

Eric Cottongim

The trailer was found empty in an industrial area in Indy. No sign of Ford truck or the contents. Thanks for asking.

I think there needs to be some decoy trailers set up. Fill them with a bunch of half drunk racers with ball bats. What a surprise when they cut the latch off of that trailer.

CTtoPA 6/8/11 10:41 PM

Where do you think the stuff goes after they get it? Do they sell it to unsuspecting race teams? Send it overseas?

I have told Chuck where to look. I won't go public with what I told him, I'm afraid I'll show my hand. If he's lucky, he may get a couple leads with what I told him.

By the way, if I'm in the back of that trailer my ball bat would have the brand name of Smith and Wesson.

Re: STOLEN #65 Silver Crown Car W/Truck & Tra

It seems that there is only so many people that would want a Silver Crown Car. Remember the Nolen car was stolen a couple of years ago. Bud Kaeding also had a SC engine stolen last year. I know the Nolen car was in Oklahoma, but maybe these are all linked.

Re: STOLEN #65 Silver Crown Car W/Truck & Tra

Does not have to be racing. Two years ago at the Supemileage contest with rigs at a local Motel in Brownsburg one team lost a dually and ours was broken into but the shifter broke. One had a band trailer and the other a smaller enclosed car trailer. It was a pain crawling under the truck to shift the rest of the weekend, but we had a truck. the other one is still missing.

Re: STOLEN #65 Silver Crown Car W/Truck & Tra

One suggestion is whenever we were on the road we would pull a few fuses out of the dually when we were staying over night. Just takes a few minutes but shuts down the theft opportunity.
