Re: Dodge City - Expected Entries Posted
They just did a sound check, so they should be on the air before too long.

The stream is up and rolling. Hot Laps rolling off shortly. 37 cars in the pits - I edited the driver list above with the latest additions!

Re: Dodge City - Expected Entries Posted
Hope they get a better crowd tonight. That place looked empty.
Might be a one and done deal if they have the same crowd again tonight. |

Starting on time, keeping the show moving, and getting the fans out at a reasonable time will only help to get more fans in the stands. Re: Dodge City - Expected Entries Posted
I agree. The facility is very nice and they ran an efficient program. Just say"n there could not have been 300 people there. I might be wrong but that is what it looked like to me. If the show is not a money maker it really doesn't matter how clean they ran the show. USAC is not what you call the king of promotion even though the guy that runs is supposed to be a GREAT Promotion guy. Even if they get double or triple the crowd tonight I just don't think it will cover the costs. Nice car count though. Not being negative....Just being honest. I enjoyed watching the race. Good race for a track that size.

Guys, do you think the low attendance is unique to USAC? Think again. I just watched the NASCAR Nashville race. The stands were virtually empty. I have watched NASCAR, F1, IndyCar, Moto GP, Motocross, and just about every other motorsport on TV this year. It's pretty bad attendance everywhere. Baseball? Bad news there too. How about $4.00 a gallon for gas? Times are tough. How about 9% unemployment? Groceries are 15% higher than a year or so ago. This is also a brand new event. New events make it hard to fill the stands. It takes years to do that.
Pullleeese, it's not just a USAC problem |
