Taxi, Taxi....theres two together.

Same ole boring NASCRAP restricter race. Two car boring drafts. Wish there was racing to watch that wasn't boring. Maybe there is some drag racing going on ESPN sometime today.

You could always watch the "parade" through the streets of Long Beach on VERSUS. :29:

Re: Taxi, Taxi....theres two together.

I don't have Versus.

Bowling on ESPN, this will be better.

They should chain'em together & remove the engine from the 2nd car - think of the cost savings! :5:

DW just praised Newman for saving his car. Then he said, he saved it because dirt track racing. And Newman spun and didn't hit anything again.

I will have to say that was an exciting finish, but I hated to see Jimmie Johnson win the race.

One exciting lap out of 499...so they all will say what a really great race it was.....What a joke:5::5::3:

And it would have been even more boring if wanna be drag racer Kurt Busch wouldn't have spun out three cars.

Tell me about it. The lovefest with him and Jr afterwards is pretty disturbing.

i guess it would be a boring race if it was 500 laps..? but it was only 188! i'll take that over Indy car & F1 any day of the week.

I thought you were watching bowling?

Awesome run today for the Buckeye Bullet. He had my hopes up there for a while.

It was college, so it was boring. Went back to NASCRAP and almost went to sleep. The professional bowling isn't bad watching, but team college women bowling....

Good to see a first-time winner in IndyCar today and in a non-Penske or Ganassi car. Mike Conway comes back from the awful crash at Indy last year to victory lane at Long Beach. :6:

Agreed!

Also, lots of "racing" haters on here for a "racing" forum..... Just a observation.....

What Lil' Rim said. Don't understand why you guys are talking smack about today's race. Pretty much the same as Daytona but with a lot less wrecks (I thought Daytona was great even with all of the cautions). 80+ lead changes and a tie for the closest finish in history is not good enough for ya?:20:

And yes a great run today for Blaney.

I said the same thing about the Daytona. My issue is the drafting, the two car drafting sucks.

Re: Taxi, Taxi....theres two together.

So what sucks about it? Seems like they can swap the lead fairly easy now making for a lot more passing. In fact two cars can break away a good distance but then quickly lose their lead to the others behind them in a matter of two or three laps. You'd rather see two lanes of cars racing side by side where one car makes a mistake and wipes out half of the field? Or maybe the way it was for a long time where one guy (more times than not Dale Earnhardt) could lead over half the race leading a single lane draft? This two car draft has made me watch the restrictor plate races again.

Sprint car racing can't come soon enough for you I guess.

I watched 5 minutes of "Dancing with the Cars" and had enough. I thought the Reds-Pirates game was a much better option. Even though the Reds lost I have absolutely no regrets.

I'll catch the next NASCAR race in two weeks when they are at a better race track.

On a good note I'm glad JJ Yeley wasn't a start and park today. Looked at the results and he completed all 188 laps. Good job.

What sucks......I used to like NASCRAP, back when you could muscle your way to the front via drafting for a while and then sling shotting forward. Back when they drafted 3 plus cars and had an advantage. Now to get to the front, you need to have a car that doesn't mind coming in second (Today Junior as the winner gave him the checkered flag).

Gotta give a shout out to "The Buckeye Bullet" he had a awesome car today with a underfunded team.. it was great to see him run up front most of the day

hope you enjoyed watching the grass grow.. Baseball over racing Please...!! Doesnt get much more boring than that. :5:

:8:On the j.j. Yeley dea, he did not "complete all 188 laps". if you look at the results he didnt start the race! Bill elliott did crediting him with 26th! He probably complete 140 of the 188 after the driver swap!!... :):8:

Weelll! Perhaps I'm being too hard about the Sprint Cup race today. In fact since we are talking about minutes of excitement there is a very distinct similarity between the Talledega race and, say, your average weekly sprint car feature in Indiana. Both have about 10 minutes worth of excitement.:3: ;)

a lot less start and parks today heck look at blaney...atleast the starters and parkers felt like they were needed today...pushing or pulling

apexonephoto 4/18/11 7:44 AM

It's obviously different then a dirt race. How many of you can say you've only seen great races on fairgrounds miles?

But to say baseball and bowling are better? I've never checked, but I assume you won't see multiple former USAC champions playing those sports.

None of the racetracks in Canada have even started test and tune days yet! It rained everywhere in the Midwest, so I'd say we are pretty fortunate to get to see any racing.
