World of Outlaws at Paducah this Fri April 15
The World of Outlaw Sprint Cars make their only appearance of the year in the state of Kentucky this Friday April 15th at Paducah International Raceway. Come watch the winged warriors blast their way arount the high banked 3/8ths in just over 12 seconds per lap. Can Danny Lasoski, Steve Kinser, Joey Saldana, Jason Meyers, Donny Schotz or any of the other Outlaws lower the track recored to under 12 seconds? You have to be there to see.
Also on the racing card will be the UMP Modifieds ($600 to win) the Pro Late Models ($500 to win) and the Street Stocks ($250 to win). Special appearances by Tony Stewart, Kenny Wallace, and Kasey Kahne are also on tap with Stewart and Wallace both racing their UMP Modifieds against the talented local drivers. Can Justin Houston make it 3 in a row in the Modifieds with Stewart and Wallace both there to challenge him. Or will Randle Sweeney, Justin Story, Jeff Elliott, Steve Ladd or Dustin Isom charge to their first victories of the year at PIR. Jeff Glisson is expected back to defend his Pro Late Model victory from last week or will Tait Davenport, defending track champion Cary King, or Troy English break through the win column. With an increased purse in the UMP Stock car division more cars are expected to come challenge Last weeks winner Tony Cruse and first week winner Mike Watson and take away the extra cash. Tickets are still available for this event and can be purchased by calling the track at 270-898-7469 during regular business hours. For our guy, it is an attempt to make money on the back gate since even the touring series are poorly attended. This year, the WoO won't be back, but he is running 4 classes (add in Eco Stocks-FWD cars) with the ASCS shows. It makes for a loooong evening, and often kills attendance. |
Re: World of Outlaws at Paducah this Fri Apri
We run 6 divisions on a regular race night and are generally done in about 2 1/2 hours. The show will run very quickly and efficiently. Sprints will be the
2nd feature of the evening. |
Re: World of Outlaws at Paducah this Fri Apri

Pretty sure there used to always be a clause in the WoO contracts that you could only have one support class. Apparently that has changed.

Re: World of Outlaws at Paducah this Fri Apri
Qualifying will start at 6:30 pm Central time.

Re: World of Outlaws at Paducah this Fri Apri
We'll be heading down Friday with a push truck crew. Every year we do this WoO show and they have a packed house. This high banked joint is fast and they keep the show moving. Tony Stewart, Kenny Wallace and Kasey Kahne will be there this year as well. If the rain stays away it should be a great show.
