ID Help with 1966 Paragon Photos

I need help with identifying the drivers in these photos. They were supposedly taken in 1966 at Paragon. I was told the #53 could be Bob Kinser but I'm not sure. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Russ

The first pic looks similar to a roadster that Ember Link used to drive but, I thought it was a #49 and it was Ford Powered. The exhaust on the pictured car looks like the two center cylinders are "siamese" like a chevy. Just a guess.

These are before my time, and they're great. The roadster a great looking car. It also says chevy powered on the hood. That's all I have.

The #46 was Gene Hensen, called "The Flying Eye Ball"
I watched him many Sunday nights at "Little Springfield"

Yes, the #46 is Gene Henson who was a terror. The #53 is "the rockin chair special" of the Fox's. Could be Bobby Kinser.

O'Connor fan, what was Bobby Carrigan's #?

Galen said it is Bob in the 53, its a 1965 Trevis Car. 1966 Was Galen's First Year Working on Sprint Cars

I wonder, did they buy that Trevis new or from another racer?

Thanks alot! I honestly thought that one would be the least likely to be identified. I appreciate it. Russ

Thank you for the info. Jim Bob Luebbert told me that's who he thought it was but he wasn't 100% sure.

Darn! Old age has reared its ugly head at me again -- I had the privilege of watching Bobby several times, but cannot remember the number. I seem to remember a white sprint car without the nose. Sorry 'bout my fuzzy memory.

Anyone else here remember an announcer who would warn "women and children" to move far from the fences when Jim Bob Luebbert went out to qualify? I know Jim Bob does -- he told me that himself in a store on 16th street quite a few years back !! :)

Pat O' Conner Fan & racerjim2 I have several pictures of Bobby Carrigan in the Blue & White Camfield car. One of pictures taken at Macon has a #1 on the car. Another picture at little Springfield has a #57 on it.

Bobby may have driven for Camfield some. But he had his own car he raced on the Indiana track. I'm thinking it wasa CAE supermod and was red. Him and Gene Henson were both big winners.

Could the #2 car be Larry Miller?

I was doing some searching for Gene Henson info tonight and I came across a photo of the red #1 Twinburger Special you are talking about at www.freewebs.com/springfieldsspeedway/

Jim Bob is still in that store, or at least he was still there in October. I stopped in to chat and have him autograph a couple of photos for me. It's called Speedway Embroidery and it is directly across from the 16th Street tunnel entrance to the Speedway. He is having some issues with the city of Speedway, they are trying to take his property away for some kind of new development. The city wants to pay him a fraction of what the property is really worth. But I'm pretty sure he is still there.

Very cool! Thanks for the info. I'll be posting several more from Paragon in a couple of days that I need help with. I hope you check back. Russ
