OT-Music that really rocks...

I've been trying to come up with a list of songs the really rock the house. I've done pretty good, but wanted to see what other people's ideas are.

Post what you think might be your top 3-5 songs that really rock.

Re: OT-Music that really rocks...

Having grown up in the 60s, I don't keep up with the latest rock and roll and haven't for sometime. But, at the PAS they play an AC/DC number (I asked my son who the artist was and the name of the song) that really rocks the house. I enjoyed it but don't ask me to tell you the name of it, for as usual my memory has failed me. Also they play a Kid Rock title everytime Tony Jones wins. Something about "Its a Cowboy Thing". Great place (PAS) to go to watch sprinters run with some good rock music. Good topic.

I don't have a top 5, these were just some that came to mind first.

Was the Larry Crane song written specifically about sprint/midget racing or was it inspired by racing in general?

Greg, "Jerry was a race car driver" was playing on Sirius this AM on the way to work, and I was grinning the whole time.

Also, I'm glad you clarified which "Fire" song you were speaking of. Initially I thought you were speaking of the old Ohio Players disco song, and I couldn't even begin to imagine Flea and the gang doing that one. :O:

Ok Billy I thought about listing the sound of music as a joke but then you throw this in here........100001110101? Is that some digital recording number at the studio? Is stroker ace a video game or a movie?

Well it is not a recording. Clutch is a band from Maryland. Me and Buckley saw them a last year at the Vogue and they rocked and there was another band there called 5 horse Johnson. Let me take a guess your a huge fan of main stream GnR and Metallica. They arent bad but there is alot more out there. Come on can honestly say that you have never heard Stroker Ace from the Charlie Daniels Band. Everyone can listen to what is on the radio but why? Why not find something different at suits your tastes. I can promise you that there is not alot of people that will like what i like. But that is my choice of music. And if your profile is right and you are 40 then here are some bands you might like Journey, Tesla, Winger, While Snake. Stay with those

100001110101
It's the Binary Coded Decimal (BCD) equivalent of 1,141. How that's tied into that song title, I don't know.

Re: OT-Music that really rocks...

Social Distortion "Reach for the Sky" is one of the best songs ever!

(I actually saw Social D open with an acoustic version of "Reach for the Sky" last December in Hollywood. Very strong!)

Props to whoever called that out!

There are so many great anthems.

Rage Against the Machine's "Know your Enemy" is a classic also.

I'm with you guys on the Flyleaf. That chick's (Lacey Mosley) voice is pretty hot. And so is the rest of her!

I'm thinking more along the lines of:

Metallica-For Whom the Bell Tolls, Fuel...
Saliva- Click, Click Boom
Living Colour-Cult of Personality

Stuff like that...

I like what someone said about what would get you fired up right before qualifying.

Thanks for the suggestions. It's going to take me a while to check them all out. By all means, add more to the list.

Billy P: I've got a cd of a band called Very Bad Things. The name of the cd is Unimaginable Consequences. Pretty heavy stuff if you like that. If I think about it, I'll drag it with me to the track & let you check it out.:applaud:
