Mini Sprints at Twin Cities
Has anyone heard if the Mini Sprints will be back at Twin Cities this year. The MMSA ran there a few times last year but I don't see TC on their 2011 schedule.
I heard there was a possibility that TC might run their own 1000 class. Wondering if that will happen or if the MMSA and AMSA will run some races there. |
Re: Mini Sprints at Twin Cities
All I've seen, is what is on the MMSA web site, and Lawrenceburg website, looks like MMSA mostly at Brownstown, and AMSA at thBurg, MMSA has a couple at Bloomington, and one or two at Kokomo, we, MTQRL TQ's have 3 at TC, that's as much as I've found out. Gas City, Montpelier, LPs, Paragon have yet to post a schedule, and others, I'm sure. Bob

Re: Mini Sprints at Twin Cities
Twin Cities schedule is out. There are some 1000cc races listed but no association with either the MMSA or AMSA. The AMSA's schedule is not out yet, the MMSA does not have Twin Cities on their schedule.

Re: Mini Sprints at Twin Cities
Looks like the 3 races at North Vernon will have mostly A.M.S.A. cars 1 night and M.M.S.A. cars on another according to how each associations schedule looks so far. There is a date that A.M.S.A. does not have a race so that will be mostly AMSA cars. Another date MMSA does not have a race, that will be mostly their cars. The other date could be interesting because both series have races, probably will not be many cars at Twin Cities on that night.
Does anyone know what the payout would be for the mini sprints at North Vernon? Mike M. 67 "Live to race and race to win" Fun is always there. :23::31::22::8: |
Re: Mini Sprints at Twin Cities
April 30th:
Twin Cities 1000s AMSA - L-Burg MMSA - No Race May 14th: Twin Cities 1000s AMSA - No schedule yet MMSA - Paragon July 30th: Twin Cities 1000s AMSA - L-Burg MMSA - Paragon Waynesfield is running their 1000 class on May 14th and July 30th also. |
Re: Mini Sprints at Twin Cities
We will run at Twin Cities on April 30, as long as the payout is worth the effort. $500.00 to win and $75.00 to start would get me there. The other nights we will have to run with MMSA. We appreciate everything Bill May has done to support the mini sprints both wing and non wing. :32:

Re: Mini Sprints at Twin Cities
I am a little surprised that TC scheduled their 1000cc class two of the same evenings that L-Burg has the AMSA running. The L-Burg schedule has been out for a couple of weeks.
They may have a good showing on April 30th with the MMSA cars but I don't see much of a car count on July 30th. The AMSA schedule is not out yet. If they are running somewhere on May 14th there probably won't be many cars at TC that night either. |

Re: Mini Sprints at Twin Cities
AMSA will not schedule any races at Twin Cities. He owes them $400 from 2 years ago with a contract signed he wouldn't honorand a attitude of take or leave it,so Jerry didn't even book any races there last year.Jerry is not cutting the payout for you.All other tracks honor theirs.Bloomington and Paragon will not pay so Jerry doesn't bother wasting his time or yours .If any member wants to run somewhere else they can and are welcomed back with open arms.I notice most track are cutting the amount of races they are running.

As usual I am overwhelmed with the professionalism on this board. Bloomington is an amazing minisprint track and I asure you they pay just fine. Paragon is the same. Both tracks are great for our cars and the growth of minisprints. Harry I know plenty of racers who have not felt welcome. Even if sanctions disagree with promoters there is no reason to post it here. We are more than happy with Bills efforts working with the promoters to have a variety of tracks to race at. So don't be disrespectful to the people making an effort to actually building the sport instead of tearing it apart.

April maybe alittle early for me, so will see you all in May; sure enjoying the weather in Yuma Az sure is better then what my home state of the Upper Michigan is getting and the rest of the mid and east states. Sorry no one believes I am a real person, guess I will have to show up and show every one I am for real and not a made up person or name.

Re: Mini Sprints at Twin Cities
If you want to run for $1200 purse thats fine ,that is what Bloomington and Paragon offered. I have only stated FACTS and did not run down anybody.
Sorry I got you in trouble again Harry, wish would of came around last year would really like to know who you are.The Pauley's won't be traveling and working with AMSA this year,we just can't afford to.I am going to miss this and the people.Jerry and Mert are part of our family and I talk to them most days. We have been in racing one way or another for 30 plus years and I hope I survive the summer without it. So here's to warm days ,cool nights and no rain outs. |
Re: Mini Sprints at Twin Cities
I'm just thankful we have great people like the Moler family who have supported mini-sprint racing ever since they opened, and the Schrader family who have supported us since their take over and have paid better than anyone in the area.
Two best mini-sprint tracks in the country. :23: |

Re: Mini Sprints at Twin Cities
My thoughts, why the big name tracks like lawrenceburg, kc, Bloomington, Kokomo ect(most of those i been to an like racing at). i know those places are good for are sport an most have good racing for the minis but i think alot of you are forgetting the history of minis and where they came from. Whats wrong with the little fair tracks,or the smaller no name tracks granted they might not pay as much but who runs a mini an plans on getting rich off of it? Minis came from the little fair and no named tracks an should not forget that keep the big tracks but bring on the small ones to.

Some times you're a "mam" sometimes you're "man" frankly my dear I
don't give a damned. We should all use our ip adddress so as not to get confused. I'm told when you get real old you get confused about things. We do what we think is best for us. Mason is watching out for Mason, JT is watching out JT, The old folkes are watching out for the old folks whoever they are and I'M sure watching out for ME. I do not need a history lessson on mini-sprints I've lived it. We have raced from 16th street speedway with 10000 fans in the stands to Waynesfield when it was a go kart track, met some real nice people along the way and a few not so nice people. We race where we think we will have a good time. Because the money is sure not there. The only difference between us and a top notch USAC team is we don't loose as much money doing it, were both having fun and trying to out do the other guy "JUST TRYING TO BE FASTER THAN YOU" We went to the shootout and We were met with "folded arms". I did kind of like watching people walk by "eyes ahead" making sure not to make eye contact with me. That really is not the way to go racing. We are a pretty small number maybe 60 cars total running in the mid west. We do need to work on people skills. If I beat you it wont be because I used a rule aganist you I'm just going to beat you... WE need to trim some of these rules down and add some weight to the cars. We don't have enough cars for a "light" and "heavy" class so above all else we need to stop acting like a bunch of QM nuts. Bill May's "MMSA" has trimed rules a little bit. BUT Weight is where It's at. It take a real driver to carry 100 extra pounds and run up front. If a zx12 boat ancor has to weigh 1050 lbs to race lets just make 1050 the minimum weight. Titanium weight drivers might then learn a thing or two about racing from the grown up drivers out there and I would not have to speend so much money on titanium bolts and or a chassis made out of .049 tubeing. It aint fuel, it aint motor, it aint dyno time it aint even chassis or tires it's just weight and making it fair for every one. I've been preaching this for 20 years now and have made a little progress from 750 lbs to 900 but that is still off a little. The rights and lefts need to get together and do what is right for the "sport" . Give everybody a chance to win. . .......Yours Truly .......Dad "I THINK" ps. If you see me at the race track stop by and say hi I won't bight |

I don't mind losing to a guy with a better setup, a better driver, or even a bigger motor. i just don't think its fair when he's winning because he weighs 95lbs soaking wet. A guy that's 6 ft tall and 200 lbs shouldnt be at an unfair advantage right off the bat just because he's a bigger guy. |
