2011 PowrI Schedule Released

Here is the link for the 2011 PowrI schedule. Rather surprised that they will not be co-sanctioning the Gold Crown races at Tri City Speedway but rather running there own race on October 1st at Belle Clair.

What's going on with no dates at Granite City? Can't believe they'll be no "Gold Crown" event this year. That sucks.

USAC's National Midget schedule shows the Gold Crown at Tri City Speedway on October 6, 7 & 8.

How can they run that event without POWERi cars? Car counts won't be close to this past year without POWERi there.

Jeff,

PowrI last scheduled race is October 1st at Belle Clair. I am sure that most if not all PowrI teams will be at Tri City for the Gold Crown. JMO.

July 16 at Wimot and July 17 at Sun Prairie. That sounds like a good weekend of midget racing in WI! USAC Midgets don't run that weekend but that is the end of sprintweek. I hope I get to see the Don Moore #10 up here that weekend!

The sad thing is, according to Tri-City Speedway schedule, the Gold Crown Nationals is the only midget event at this track all year. Whoever let this happen, if true, should be ashamed.:7: That place established it's self as a midget mecca last year. And they've decided that this wasn't worth building on, apparently. Zero POWRI events and it's right in their back yard.

I know that not too long ago, over on the stlracing site, Kevin said that there schedule wasn't finished and that a few more open wheel shows were in the works.

Thanks for thinking of us. I will be evaluating all the midget schedules and see what's best for our team. There are quite a few new opportunities closer to home that might work for us that have not been announced yet. I want to also look at the ARDC schedule. We raced a few times with them last season. We especially enjoyed Mercer Raceway in PA. I'm also interested in the purse structure for the D1 USAC midget series. What is it, BTW? One thing that I would like to see is the midget organizations ditching the tire rule. We need to get the prices of tires way down. Why is this so difficult to understand. The cost of two purple tires at a recent race meet was $350 with tax. That's crazy.

As a fan, I am upset with the Midget Money Speedweek. In the past, it was a build up to the Belleville Midget Nationals, and it appeared that both events benefited from each other. This year, the last speedweek event is the Sunday before Belleville. I am not sure how this will impact the car counts of each.

As fans, we have no real insight as to the ******** and the $ that go into decisions regarding scheduling events and sanctioning bodies for those events. I am sure that Kevin is having to deal with far too many IFs, plus HE SAID, THEY SAID crap, and sponsorships, and his own bottom line. Let's be patient and wait for the firm schedules for the track, USAC, and POWRi. I agree with Jerry and others in hoping that more midget events are scheduled there. I also hope that the sanctioning bodies can put away their egos at least long enough to provide the best for the racers and the fans.

I have a theory of the open parts to the schedule, but it would not be popular here, so I will pass.

Just don't want to get people worked up. Must be slacking in my old age. I'll put it this way it didn't exactly sneak up on me.
