Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
After this past Saturday night forgive me if I'm a bit cynical in regards to PPV racing on the internet.
What's the minimum speed that is required to support the stream? Is this a Coke syrup or dirt track? |
Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
Event info here: http://www.rumbleseries.com/
Go to this website and scroll down to the intructions. It is coke syrup track, but you will see extensive passing. Races On The Web streams races all summer, and have the bugs worked out. http://www.racesontheweb.com/ Check out this youtube video from 07. You can catch all the midget action after 7. We run the karts and QMs mostly before that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GCKFQIwI-o We will have 3 camera angles. Here is D.O.'s clip of last years night one 60 lap feature. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMwuVkoc7X0 |
Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
If its the same people that did DuQuoin you can forget about that idea.Just a heads up cause you may have about 3 people try to buy it if not.Make sure you put the company on here and make damn sure they arent affiliated with the DuQuoin crew.Just my 2 cents thats all.Actually it was my $14.95 but still.:11:
|
Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
This is not the same company that did Duquoin..This company streams tracks out of Michigan all summer..They have it going.
Micro..Sorry it didn't work out for you on Duquoin..I managed to watch it without problems. I know that the company there had complaints. I bought the deal to basically see what problems may arise. I think the company that did Duquoin should have had an event schedule up among other things. |
Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
Here we go again.
I found nowhere to test download speed on the website provided. |
Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
They list a way to test on their page....I have copied their entire instructions below. Perhaps there are other people who have watched Races On The Web to vouch for them. One thing..Our race stream will start much earlier than Duquoin did..like NOON..But you can see all the midget races after 7:00 PM.
I am sorry some of you were screwed out of watching the races. It looks like Jacob Wilson and the #10 team were screwed out of a starting spot in the feature also..does that mean he quits racing?...NO..HE IS RACING NEXT WEEK...... THE COMPANY I AM DEALING WITH OPERATES ALL SUMMER. Hopefully, you can all come out to the races in person..Thats where the party is. Thanks, Tony Barhorst How Do I Use Your PPV System?! All you will need is a valid credit/debit card or a PayPal account. You MUST have a high speed internet connection (DSL or better). How To Buy: 1. Go to: our PPV page and click "Signup." (You MUST Signup in order to complete the buy). We have found it is better to make your user name as one word. 90% of the times we have users having problems, it is with users who use a two word user name. Once the form is filled out, click "Continue." Once signed up you won't need to register again. Tell your browser to remember your user and password for ease of use down the road. 2. Click your browser will take you to the Pay Per View Ticket Purchase page. 3. You will see a drop down menu that says "Select Product." Select the desired choice and click "Order." 4. You'll be taken to PayPal website where you can use a valid credit/debit card or paypal account to purchase. Once you select and fill out the payment information click "pay now" (or for Credit/Debit Card Purchases click on "Review and Continue."). Once it confirms your completed payment, click on the link that says "Return to Races On The Web." Make sure your email on file with Paypal is VALID so that if you have a problem, we can contact you! We have found that as many as 20% of all users have invalid email addresses on file with Paypal. 5. Once back at ROTW you'll see a confirmation of the order, then click "Login." (You will also be emailed a confirmation of the order. If you don't receive a confirmation check your trash/spam folder.) 6. Once your back to the Pay Per View Ticket Purchase Page (the page that has the drop down menu) look on the left hand side that says "Your Subscriptions" and your order should be listed directly below. You might have to reload or refresh your page by clicking on the F5 key, located on the very top row of your keyboard. Once you see your order listed under "Your Subscriptions" click it and you'll be prompted for your username & password. This is the same name & password you registered for in step 1). You'll then be taken to the viewing page. If you ordered a LIVE broadcast and the player says "File or stream not found" then the broadcast has not yet started. Broadcast will start about 10 minutes before the first race. If you ordered a replay and you get an error, drop us a note from the email link above and we will be with you as soon as possible. To test if you can watch the video, just click & play the player below. If you can't watch the video then download the latest Adobe Flash Player as noted below in the UPDATES section. View this same page here with the link. http://www.racesontheweb.com/ New To ROTW Video?? - Links to Updates! We have upgraded all of our servers to allow more people to view with fewer problems. The browser wars between Microsoft, Apple, and others left many viewers unable to view without all kinds of work but we hope that is not an issue this year. Our streams are now all done in Flash video and seem to be 100% better quaility and with fewer problems. Firefox seems to have an occasional problem and FireFox users may have to use another browser or get Adobe's Flash Player to view the stream. Mac users may have to get Flash Player for Macs. Many first time viewers report difficulties seeing the feed. It's easy to say it is a problem on the uplink end, but we do ask that you ensure your browser is fully updated before you get your ticket. Go to Microsoft Updates and install all the latest updates from them. Firefox users - there is a new update available HERE. Mac users can get Flip 4 Mac HERE. |
Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
To see the text concerning the test I had to highlight it as if to copy and paste otherwise it was illedgeable. And, after I could see it by highlighting it there was no player there to click on and play as the text indicated. I downloaded the flash player as well and there still is nothing to click on to accept some advertisement for the Ad Council to Fight Global Warming.
Nothing personal, but my scepticism comes from having money sucked out of my pocket and receiving nothing in return. Whether or not this outfit has broadcast all summer or not is of no significance at this point. Gettin' off on the wrong foot is a red flag and is significant. |
Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
I suggest coming in person then. I saw your posts when Duquoin was running. Both you and Micro 94 were ripped.
All I can say is this is a totally different company, different venue, price and everything. I asked about possible trouble that has happened with other video streams in advance. Crystal Motor Speedway in Michigan has been using this company for 12 years. I talked to the promoter there...I have done my homework here. Best, Tony Barhorst ---------- Post added at 03:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:16 PM ---------- ATTENTION..THIS IS THE SAME COMPANY THAT DID THE KOKOMO KLASH..THAT RACE IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR $1.99..CHECK IT OUT. You can also watch Pay-Per-View replays of the Kokomo Klash for $1.99 for each of the two nights. Vist our PPV Page. See below on how to use the PPV page. http://www.racesontheweb.com/ If you have a complaint..I suggest calling POWERI ---------- Post added at 04:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:16 PM ---------- Just to let you know..we will be streaming from a major venue in Fort Wayne that has state of the art high speed available to promoters...so we will have the best setup with the announcers sound plugged into the mixing board. I am glad you guys brought all this up so we can explain it better. Here is the Kokomo thread..that Races On The Web worked. We will have three cameras..in optimum condition. https://www.indianaopenwheel.com/showthread.php?t=38187 Another thing...It is warm inside the Expo Center in Fort Wayne.. |

Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
I suggest you have graphics capability to give lineups on the screen for the major races.

Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
Everyone brings up valid points and concerns about live broadcasting.
I updated the Races On The Web website to hopefully answer some questions. I am not the normal webmaster for the website, nor am I the owner of ROTW. However I have worked exclusively with them since 2004 and I can say without a doubt, we NEVER do a Pay Per View broadcast unless we are completely confident in the equipment and available internet. We work with people to try and resolve technical issues. Even when people are signing up we try to make sure they complete the registration process correctly by emailing them and returning phone calls (if we get them). I have ran live broadcasts from Thunderbird Raceway (Michigan) for over 2 years and recently the last couple weeks of the season at Kokomo. I plan to be running the broadcast for the Rumble Series as well. ISF- I have read your concerns and tried to address them by fixing the ROTW website (was not aware of the issues before Monday evening) and with this post. I always encourage people to attend the races in person if at all possible, but if you can't I hope you would give us a chance. If you or anyone else has questions or concerns please feel free to contact me anytime: Jon Huston 574-206-6617 (if you get voicemail, please leave a message) jrhuston81@gmail.com |
Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
The major factor in a good stream this is that we will have a dedicated high speed line at the Allen County Memorial Coliseum.
Here is another way to test it: Also, we will have at least one camera set up Thursday, Dec. 30 so people can check out the stream and judge for themselves. We will have three camera's on racedays. Keep in mind we will be working on laying the rubber for the track down. By the time we are finished, the track will enable racing like you see in D.O.'s clip of the feature above. I feel pretty good about the company we have. After all, I don't want to have problems, and am taking steps to make sure it goes well. Check out their work both nights at the Kokomo Klash.. Look for a full event schedule here soon. Thanks, Tony Barhorst |
Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
Thanks for offering this. I will not be able to make the event this year because of schedule conflicts. I am willing to take the $5 gamble that everything will work. Always have a good time with this show. Now I just have to figure out how to hook it up from the laptop to the big screen......

Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
when i sign up they only charged me $5.99? i thought that was per day?
|
Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
If I am home, I will be watching. Thank you for the opportunity.

Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
Sorry.Didnt mean to start a big discussion her I was just sayin. And Tony I probably will be at Ft. Wayne. Its not quite the 5 hour drive DuQuoin was.The Party if Friday night isnt it or is that just Olsens and yours is Saturday night?

Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
OK, if what I assume is the test video on the ROTW website of Kokomo in September worked satisfactorily then is it safe to assume we can expect the video of Fort Wayne will also work equally as well?
The Kokomo video, by the way, worked perfectly. |
Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
I watched several races from Crystal by ROTW and they do a very good job.

Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
I just want to clarify that the test video in question is in fact the Kokomo video towards the bottom of the ROTW page. If that is the case then, again, it worked flawlessly.
This will be a large part of our New Years Eve entertainment for a fairly large group, so I don't want to leave anything to chance or my wife will kill me. Just kidding, she'll only disable me. We'll be watching Thursday for the tune-up. Thanks. |

Thanks for the info Tony. i have had little trouble with the live feeds i've paid for. the Kokomo clash was one of the best. no one should worry about paying for this. That said and to save the wrath of Aero nothing compares to being there in person. Tv or internet cannot come close to an in person experience.

Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
I'm going to the Roger McCluskey race in Tucson
Its a day time race so I will be watching the PPV both nites :8::8: Bob |
Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
This website is a good one to check your own internet speed. http://www.speedtest.net
Select a location (really doesn't matter what location you select) and wait for the test results. Most internet broadcasts recommend that viewers have at least 1.5 Mb/s internet speed. |
Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne

Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
Wease, new teammates head ‘Rumble’ entry list
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Billy Wease and his team did everything but bring out the brooms following last year’s “Rumble in Fort Wayne.” With equal measures of guts and guile, Wease pulled off a sweep of the two-day indoor racing classic, joining two-time NASCAR champion Tony Stewart as the only drivers ever to win both midget features in a Rumble Series weekend. But Wease’s task won’t be any easier when the 13th annual “Rumble in Fort Wayne” unfolds New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day at the Memorial Coliseum Expo Center. In fact, some of his toughest competition may come from his own team. Owner Randy Burrow has entered an unprecedented four cars, with open-wheel standouts Aaron Pierce and Bobby Santos III joining Wease, along with 15-year-old rookie Joey Burrow, the owner’s son. “I think it’ll all be fun,” said Wease, 24, who has four career indoor victories, all since 2007. “I’m really good friends with Bobby Santos. He’s dating my sister. I think it’ll be really good fun racing him. He’s never done the indoor stuff. “Hopefully, we’ll run 1-2.” Or even 1-2-3. At age 25, Santos already has won many of the nation’s top midget races, including the Copper World Classic, Night Before the 500 and Turkey Night Grand Prix. This past season, he became the second-youngest champion in the 63-year history of the NASCAR Modified series. Pierce, 36, a frequent competitor at Fort Wayne, was runner-up to Dave Darland on the second night in 2004 and twice has been the fastest qualifier at the specially constructed 1/6-mile track. He’s the fastest driver in USAC Silver Crown history, recording a lap of 174.295 mph in qualifying at Chicagoland Speedway in 2006. Burrow, a sophomore in high school, moves up to midgets following a half-dozen years in karts. The elder Burrow, who operates Burco Molding in Noblesville, Ind., said his enthusiasm for indoor racing, coupled with the chance to add such talented drivers, prompted his decision to expand. He fielded two cars at Fort Wayne last season. “It just all came together this year,” Burrow said. “I’m seeing what kind of a mess I can make. I think the cars will all look good. Most of these pieces on the cars I already had. This old Edmunds car (that Santos will drive) I’ve had since the mid-‘90s. We just finally put it together. “I like indoor racing. And you know why? Because Bob East (a top builder and owner) can’t out-spend me. This is more like traditional midget racing, where guys bring what they conjure up. I’m not going to get beat because somebody has a better engine or somebody has a better chassis. “It’s the guy tuning the car and the guy doing the driving (that makes the difference).” The preliminary entry list also features Rich Corson, Dave Darland, Tony Elliott, David Gough, John Heydenreich and Jon Stanbrough – all of whom have Rumble Series indoor wins – as well as National Midget Auto Racing Hall of Famer Kevin Olson, who’ll drive for Tony Stewart Racing. Derek Bischak, David Fuhrman, Geoff Kaiser and Cory Setser will represent the Fort Wayne area in the midgets. In all, 39 midgets and 34 winged outlaw modified midgets are among more than 280 pre-race entries in the five classes. Competition also includes Slingshot by Tobias cars, karts and quarter midgets, with complete programs both Friday and Saturday. Spectator doors open at noon each day, with the main portion of the event after 7 p.m. The team to watch in winged midgets will be the one fielded by Kit Henry of Bellevue, Ohio. He has entered cars for John Ivy, the leading feature winner in Rumble Series history; his son, Cap Henry, the 2010 rookie of the year in the All-Star Circuit of Champions sprint car series; and reigning Fremont Speedway sprint car champion Craig Mintz. Olson and sprint car legend Hank Lower of nearby Angola, Ind., will serve as grand marshals. Lower, 72, also will drive in the Slingshot division. Additionally, ATV stuntman Henry “The Pit Bull” Rife will attempt a world indoor record jump of cars following Friday’s racing. Rife, who has appeared “Late Show With David Letterman,” suffered the worst crash of his career 15 years ago in Fort Wayne when he failed to clear a house trailer in a jump at Baer Field Speedway. “I’m so looking forward to doing this,” the 42-year-old Rife said. “It’s been a long while (since the accident), and it’s time.” Tickets for the “Rumble in Fort Wayne” are available in advance or at the door, and the event – including Rife’s jump – will be shown live on pay-per-view at racesontheweb.com. Reserved seats, which must be purchased in advance, are $41 for both days and $22.50 for a single day. General admission is $35 for both days and $19.50 for a single day. Tickets for kids 12 and under are $16 for both days and $10 for one day (both reserved and general admission). Pit passes are $55 for two days and $30 for a single day. The pay-per-view webcast is $5.99 per day. More information, including race headquarters hotel rates, is available at rumbleseries.com or by contacting promoter Tony Barhorst at tbracefest@aol.com. |
