That is definitely a different marketing strategy.

Makes sense to me. He just opened up that market again. I know late model people that didn't watch the Chili Bowl before McCreadie, and now add more in, and it'll grow even more.

Anybody remember a few years back when Joey Saldana ran Woodwards car and it had CART, and Ford/Cosworth on it?

Sounds like a good idea to me. I like the idea of versatile drivers much more then the closed mindedness of ______-racing is the only form of racing mentality! The only thing the internet has created is a sense of self importance by way of ignorance. Jimmy Owens seems to be a pretty good guy. Glad someone has the sense to cross promote and hopefully make some new fans for late models and midgets.

Jimmy Owens is a RACER. I've been a fan of his since I first watched him in a UMP modified. By the way, he's a good guy.

Owens is a heck of a racer, not like some one is sticking Danica or Dale Jr in a car. I'm all for the late model, modified, winged guys etc. racing. Not like it's 20 cars showing up for 20 spots, you only make the A-main at Chili Bowl by EARNING it.

It cracks me up how some people only seem to come on here to
***** or belittle racers they don't like. If Jimmy owens is in the
A-Main at the Chili Bowl on Saturday night he will have earned it.
If your favorite driver doesn't make it then tough s#*t, either he
just wasn't good enough or wasn't lucky enough but don't bad mouth
Owens for getting a shot in the Chili Bowl.

Owens will do just fine out there. He probably (odds are) won't make the A but it's one more quality shoe getting the chance to roll the dice a little bit. That's about all it is really. I'm glad to hear he's going.

Never seen Jimmy Owens race but it's good to hear that he will be there, I don't care if he is a Late Model racer. It'd be cool if Shannon Babb was there. Been several LM racers there in the past; Bloomquist, Bart Hartman, Jeep Van Wormer, Josh Richards, Rick Eckert. Don't think we'll see Richards there anymore since Smoke dropped his midget program.

It'd be fun to watch him run the alphabit into the A. Sammy is usually really fun to watch in doing that.

This may be a dumb question, but is that front bumper on that very fine looking car legal to run on small bull ring tracks or the chili bowl? Looks like a great way to pull a nice hook and run on the guy in front of you.

Wouldnt see why it wouldnt be. Build like that for strength.

Actually, its not as easy as you assume. The pretzel bumper was originally designed for that purpose. However, its not a deep enough of "v" to hook the guy in front of you. But you can take a normal front bumper and give the guy in front of you a big tap and the bumper will fold into a nice "hook-n-run" front bumper.

Like Dalton stated, its for strength. We discovered this after the original customer brought it back and said it wasn't deep enough. But the bumper only had a few small dents in it after several "love taps" in a sprint car. Its the perfect front bumper for the racer who's tired of replacing front bumpers on small bullring tracks.

"Celebrity Bowl????

It has been a celebrity bowl since Day One. The first celebrity was Rich Vogler. Maybe he even had a deal to guarantee his appearance so people would come?

Do you not think Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne, Steve Kinser, Sammy Swindell, Levi Jones, Jason Leffler, Kenny Schrader are celebrities?
