World of Outlaws at Bloomington in 2011

"The 2010 Ted Johnson Memorial Award for Outstanding Contribution to Sprint Car Racing was awarded to Hall of Famer Karl Kinser, the winningest car owner and crew chief in World of Outlaws history. Kinser was not able to attend, but will be given the award at Bloomington Speedway in Indiana in 2011 when the World of Outlaws return to the ¼-mile bullring."

Found this on the WoO website wrap up of the press release awards banquet last night. Please say its true

I have no reason to like winged sprint car racing, but when they show up on these little bullrings, they actually make it exciting to watch. Ill be there for sure

and I bet the crowd will be much larger than any usac show. Can not wait to see them!!!

It definitely packs the place for sure. More than likely even more this year due to the lengthy absence of the Series

If the crowds much bigger than this years sprint week show, they will be bringing them in by bus from somewhere. No parking left at the track.

That is some of the best news I've heard for awhile! I was at the last Outlaw show at B-TON in I believe 96 or 97. It was twin 40 Lappers and Sammy won both of them in the Channelock Car. I'm ready to start the annual Outlaw Steak Fry again too. Damn that was good!:6:

Oh Ya.. the steakfry.... remember the guy cooking that had the fake "male member" under his apron and he would wipe his hands all the time revealing it? those were the days... hope this news is true and not an error on someone's part in the WoO office.

Count me in. If this deal happens, it's going to be absolutely awesome. Only thing that would make it better would be a Saturday WoO show at the Burg, and a Sunday show at Kokomo to make a nice weekend out of it.

If this is true, and I hope it is, I would not be suprised if Steve makes an announcement that 2011 is to be his farewell tour. I just think it would take something like that for Mike and the WOO to get back together and bring them back here one more time.

Maybe a Friday April date in conjunction with the Haubstadt date? If so, I hope the weather co-operates.

I wonder if Mike Miles would promote this, or lease the track for that night. I remember reading a ways back that he thought the most he could charge at the front gate was $20. An WOO show would definetly be higher than that. Just speculation on my part.

I don't think you totally understood what I meant. There very well may be a LOT more people at the Outlaw show than were at the sprint week show. I'm just saying they won't be parking at the race track if there is. :6:

Wouldn't it be great to see non winged sprints as the support class paying $3000 to win $300 to start. Best of both worlds!

Hopefully they will go to Bloomington and Haubstadt the same weekend.

When the NST ran there it packed the place. It was also a wing/non-wing show.

I was at the NST race in 06, the only winged race I've seen at B-town and yes the track was slick but the race was pretty good. Tim Kaeding won it passing Paul McMahan in traffic coming to the white flag. I'll definitely try to make plans to come up for this race.

Yeah but the track was wasted for the real sprint cars afterwards. Make it just a WoO show.

Re: World of Outlaws at Bloomington in 2011

Most of the crowd was there to see the winged cars and Steve Kinser's return to his home track that night. Remember they ran the wingless cars first. Heck John you and I have been to the last two Sprint Week shows at B-town and the track wasn't worth a s#!t. It's all in how Miles prepares it.
