That isn't all Tony is up to, D.O. I was at the opening of 600 Racing in Brownsburg today and Tony had flyers out there promoting the first ever indoor Legend Nationals at Ft. Wayne next Dec.:thumb in conjunction with the USAC events!

Hey D.O.,

Before I stopped in at Everythings Racing..I wondered how often you may drop in there. It didn't take you long! I remember they have been a sponsor of yours.

By the way..Everythings Racing had some good deals on nice looking gold Indy 500 pullovers. Unfortunatly for me...they only had large. They also have some really good priced A.J. Foyt Copenhagen and Coyote era shirts and jackets. Remember when Parker Machinery sponsored Jack Hewitt's IRL ride?..Well they have nice team shirts from that era.

It was also good to stop out at James Spinks new KOIL Tour offices in Brownsburg. James really promotes the Legends..They has stories on the Legends often in the Cincinnati Enquirer and on WLW radio when he was based there. You should have James on your show sometime.

Dwight!...Looks like you scooped me on the Legends deal before I had a chance to write a press release...Hard to get anything by you guys.

What time where you at the Legends headquarters Dwight?...I am sorry I missed you. I hung around a couple hours, and it is amazing who you may run ito at these open house and other events around town.
Stop in and see the Thunder Roadsters at his 1650 A Northfield Drive location in Brownburg. It is about 2 miles east of Bill Estes Ford. They have12 Roadsters in the area now, and there is a lot of interest.

I was there from about 1:30 to a little after 2:00, Tony. Sorry I missed you. The Legends are a great addition to the Ft. Wayne events!

I look forward to our USAC Midgetweek promotion here with non winged sprints on August 7. Here is a link to photos of the improvements made by owner Billy Danials.

I spoke to Tom Wieck (on the grader) and he said they have sifted the surface of rocks. Not a rock to be found.

Tony, several months ago you promised us that, upon returning to Union County, we would see a different place than we saw a few years ago. Those pictures are proof that you are correct. I am anxious to return!:applaud::thumb

If you haven't been to Union Co in the last 3 years you will not recognize it. They have really invested alot of money into the place. Now the track owner has invested in a real promoter and things are turning around fast. They are still working on the track surface, but they have made major strides since last year.

Re: Indiana Midget Week Promotion!!!!!

I made a trip out to UCS Friday night. The new promoter has put alot of work into the track surface. It was the best track I have ever seen there. Smooth all night, with multiple grooves of raceing. It was still hard, and got slick, but no bolders or ruts. Man I was amazed.

Tony it was good talking to you at work the other day. Hope all is going well with this race, and seems like it's going to be a big hit.

Whitewater state park is also a very good place to camp, and I live only 2 minutes away from the track, you can here the late models and modifieds from the living room, got a couch and usually beer in the fridge, just let me know if anybody needs a place to crash.

Re: Indiana Midget Week Promotion!!!!!

The Bus,

Thanks for lightening those flyers up at Office Max the other day.

The state parks around the Brookville Lake/Liberty area are nice. There is a first class marina restaurant off of 101 about halfway to Brookville that has a great view of the lake. Just like Margaritaville there with big houseboats.

I have a couple other developments:

Patrick Sullivan and Kimb Stewart will be announcing.

Newlywed Tony Funk will sing the National Anthem

Union County Speedway is shaped like a paperclip with banking in the turns.

Here is an aerial shot. The motocross is no longer in the infield. That is where we will have the ATV jump during available time/intermission.

Is there a post showing the complete schedule for the midget week series? I'm sure there is, but I'm not seeing it. I'd like to attend a few of these if I'm able.

Union County looks awesome and fast.

Thanks
George Wilkins

Re: Indiana Midget Week Promotion!!!!!

Just an FYI for you folks that will be coming south on US-27 towards Liberty. They show on the south side of Richmond that a detour begins there and takes you down 227. Don't go that way, 27 is open all the way to Liberty, and actually through town. You won't need to take any detour at all. Plus, lets you drive right past J's restaurant. Great food, and affordable prices too. Good chicken and milkshakes. cross the railroad tracks after turning on Rt 44, and it's just on the right. Also at the Shell Station, the mexican joint El Reparo is the best mexican I've ever had, so be sure to stop on the way through if you're needing the food!
