HOSS at Anderson-head count
I am looking for feedback on who is going to Anderson Saturday. HOSS, Thunder Roadsters and FWD.
The Weather Channel is saying a high of 65 and 0% (jinx!) chance of rain for Saturday. Hot laps 3pm Qualifying 4:45 Racing 6pm I got a call that 2008 HOSS Champ Geoff Kaiser will be racing for the first time since mid-summer in addition to the regular full field of cars. The final Indiana sprint car race of 2010. What the hey! Come out and see the races! Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: HOSS at Anderson-head count
RacinBabe and I plan on being there. I appreciate Rick taking a huge risk of putting a late season race of this type on. I hope he has plenty of butts in the seats.:6:

Re: HOSS at Anderson-head count
Shortbus & crew will be there --- hide all the women & lock all the doors :2: :2:

Will be making the trip! Dave I'll look u up. Thanks Rick for the late season show. Only suggestion I have for next year, think about putting on an indipendant midget race. That will really help you drawl in the fans. :6:

Re: HOSS at Anderson-head count
I will not be there but I was at the FIRST event held at the then Sun Valley Speedway in 1948. It was a combination AAA midget and Lynch Death Dodgers thrill show. The pits were behind the third and fourth turns and I think the entrance and exit to that original pit area still remain. The old wooden bleachers completely surrounded the oval.

Re: HOSS at Anderson-head count
Wish I had a pavement Sprint to join in the fun but I will be there to watch instead. Looking forward to seeing Dave Steele's track record of 10.344 go down. Could there be a 10 flat or maybe a 9 second lap, that could be stretching it. :6:

Charlie Schultz NTR 10.247! Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: HOSS at Anderson-head count
Aaron Pierce won on the last lap getting by Tim Cox out of turn 4 while they were trying to lap Jason Cox. It was a great race. Glad I decided to go at the last minute.

Re: HOSS at Anderson-head count
Congratulations to Jason Cox for being the 2010 Champion of the Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series and also for being Rookie of the Year.
|
Re: HOSS at Anderson-head count
Good show! :6:
Was wondering why there were no Thunder Roadsters? I was looking forward to seeing them run for the first time? |
Re: HOSS at Anderson-head count
Did they have a good crowd today?

Re: HOSS at Anderson-head count
A very interesting evening at Anderson Speedway. A great finish to the race with Aaron Pierce beating Tim Cox to the line with a pass off of turn 4 on the last lap. Congratulations to Jason Cox on his points championship and rookie of the year honors. I appreciate Rick Dawson taking a chance on this race and making it happen.:8: I just wish there would have been more butts in the seats. If you weren't there, you missed a very good race.
Had the opportunity to sit with Shortbus, itsanonwingthing, Dirtfan and his better half and be entertained by numerous stories.:3: Checker'd Past stopped by for a "short" visit as well. I appreciated the shout from Scott Stines about the IOW board. Sorry to see the season end but just thankful for the great season of racing that we just saw. Looking forward to 2011 and hope that it will provide even better entertainment.:6: |

Turned out to be a pretty good show. NTR in Qualifying by Charlie Schultz in the 50m (10.2 sec.). IOW's Richie was also part of the IOW clan on hand in turn 4. Lloyd Walls was noticeably absent, but he was later spotted roaming around the track, and waving to the crowd.... I guess he was thrown out of the "Gentlemans Club"!

Re: HOSS at Anderson-head count
I was there and it was a great show. One of the best that I have seen this year from start to finish. The crowd wasn't huge, but this late in the year and with a traveling series I thought it wasn't too bad. The crowd would have looked bigger if they only opened the front grandstands, but they opened them all. I was impressed with the show and keep growing into a bigger fan of these winged pavement sprinters (yep just said that). I am usually hard on Anderson Speedway, but I appreciate the show that Rick allowed to happen and I am glad that we attended. Good job HOSS and Must See this year, keep it going!!

Great show at Anderson tonight! I'm glad I decided to go. A big pat on the back to Rick Dawson for taking the chances on putting on a show this time of year. Great way to end the 2010 Indiana sprint car racing season. Can't wait for 2011, hopefully it will be just as good as this year or even better!

Re: HOSS at Anderson-head count
Had a gig come up at the last min. sucks I had to miss a great show. Thank you Rick for taking the chance. If you want more butts in the stands next year, add either an indipendant sprint car race, or an indipendant midget race. In the past, you have gotten good car counts when this happens!
|
Thanks for all the positive feedback to the show Saturday! We had a good car count, good weather maybe a little windy early in the night, and a lot of fun through the night.
The race itself went 39 green after a lap 2 caution. Aaron Pierce and Tim Cox right together every lap. Hope to have some video up at facebook.com/hoosieroutlawsprintseries. Jason Cox did win the points for the season. Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: HOSS at Anderson-head count
One of the teams had a Superhero (I believe it was Batman) working on their car. It seemed like an unfair advantage that shouldn't be allowed anytime but Halloween.

Re: HOSS at Anderson-head count
I believe he was also pushing there car onto the track in his new bat-mobile (yellow golf cart).

Re: HOSS at Anderson-head count
But, Robin was a girl?
Who would argue with the track crew that was a REAL LIVE GORILLA!:8: |
