Why in sweet Jalapeños would USAC schedule a national midget race on the west coast against The Western World Championships?

Re: October/November racing Opportunities

Eldora also has sprints on October 2nd. They are running winged 410, 360 and 305 sprints. Also for those interested, but can't get to one of the sprint car races. There is the UMP Nationals on Oct 8th and 9th. The Winchester is 400 weekend at Winchester Speedway October 15th - 17th. Salem Speedway closes their season on October 24th with the Halloween 200. Just some other dates to help some race fans make it until next spring.

It's been on the slate all year. You just now noticed?

I think they need to look out for themselves and schedule good races that people want to see (which Ventura is) and not worry about an event that was hi-jacked last season. JMO.

This is another site with all oval racing: http://www.speedwaysonline.com/sched...rack_Schedules. Disregard the 2007 in the URL, it is current.

Probably because they are not too happy that it isnt a USAC race. Why would they worry about a race that is not under their sanction. In the past the Western World has been under WoO and USAC sanction among others. This IMHO is a step down from that.

I scream you scream we all scream for millstream (OH) on Sunday October 3rd for winged 410s, 305s and lates. I only mention it because Millstream rarely runs.

The October 2nd MSCS race pays $10,000 to win and the October 9th Hoosier Fall Classic pays $7,000 to the All Stars and $3,000 non wing. October 9th is the last race of the season at the Burg.

Nov. 12 & 13 - ASCS National at Las Cruces, NM
Western World is 3 nights, Nov. 18-20

This makes one possible road trip the Short Track Nationals, Perris the next week, Las Cruces the next and the Western World the next. If USAC had scheduled more in California I would have stayed out there, but they didn't so I'm not. One race in 14 days 2,000 miles from home just doesn't cut it. Hope more are scheduled next year.

try again...last year usac scheduled the tulare sprint car race against the western world so that the jw mitchell classic could be run at ventura. the western world then got moved to that same weekend. usac went ahead and scheduled the midget show at ventura again, but as a combined national/western states race.

there were 46 midgets at this show last year...likely to be well over 50 this year. probably gonna be the best usac car count of the year. can't wait!!!

Riverside Speedway (The Ditch) in West Memphis is having their Trick or Treat Nats. race on Sat. Oct. 24th the week before the STN's. Winged 360's and 600 micros along with their fendered classes.

Anyone driving out West should try to catch the STN's at I-30. Some of the best winged racing you can see anywhere and it's by far my favorite winged race.

I'm going with Budman on this one. As much as I like a well run Usac event, I care not for their twin 50's that they run the silver crown with.:7: They might as well run heats, a semi & feature. This 50/50 stuff takes away all the strategy of running the 100 laps. :19:

Unless LPS comes up with something better, I'm driving 3 1/2 hrs to the Burg. Plus I am curious to see the wings at the Burg. Hopefully, it will not be follow the leader. Also, the regular sprints should put on a good show.:22:

The Allstar show 2 years ago was fantastic, the WOO show last year was just ok. The cool thing is about that race is you get wings and non-wings in one night. Plus the best track promoter and crew around. Ill be on the backstretch!:23::32:

I think the J.W. Mitchell Fall Classic paid $5,000 to win last year. This year with the National co-sanc. this year and $10,000 to win right before Turkey Night this may be the best one night midget show in the country on one of the best bullring's in all of the land ! !....:9::9::32::32:
