Your Favorite Graphics Design?
I am currently looking for ideas on some new graphics for my paint scheme this year. My car has always been solid black and I am looking to spruce it up with some color and graphics this year. Just wondering if any of you had any photos of some cool car designs and graphics that I may draw some inspiration from. Have a great graphics guy but I need to give him a direction to go. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: Your Favorite Graphics Design?
look at some pics of the 60's indy roadsters and some of the sprints and midgets. There was some neat paint jobs back then.

Re: Your Favorite Graphics Design?
Ask Bill Gardner to do something for you, his work is top notch. He could even wrap your car like his truck with some tiger stripes or something.:thumb

Re: Your Favorite Graphics Design?
RaceAddict,
Go with "less is more." Nearly every car out there these days is wrapped with flames, scallops, splashes, tribal markings, etc. Think to yourself about the sharpest race cars of our time, and what did they look like. Think about Sammy's black TMC Trucking car, gorgeous. Simple. Regardless, try to post a picture on here when you get it done so we can see what you came up with. Good luck this season, I think we're all ready for it. |
Re: Your Favorite Graphics Design?
This Hydro Graphics stuff looks really cool. Instead of wrapping you basically dip the stuff. Camaflauge, weeds, anythings possible.
However Im with Al Soran on this one, Sometimes less is more. The 53 painted in its full scheme which is pretty simple is actually beautiful to me |
Re: Your Favorite Graphics Design?
My kids were watching a cartoon the other day where they were building a soap box derby car and were arguing over a paint job. One wanted bunnies while the other wanted flames. The compromise was a paint job with bunnies on fire of course. I remember thinking that would look cool on a racer.:rolling:loser:

Re: Your Favorite Graphics Design?
If you wan't to stand out with todays crowd have it hand lettered by an oldtimer. **** a buncha vinyl! :thumb

Re: Your Favorite Graphics Design?
hand painted.... its an art... and its the only way to go.... hey it cost more but its soooo much cooler to have a painted car than a sticker....JMO

Re: Your Favorite Graphics Design?
My wife and son did this graphics job on our silver crown car. Its simple but flashy and definately sticks out from the other cars on the track.

Re: Your Favorite Graphics Design?
:thumb The car looks very clean. That is exactly what I am trying to come up with. Something to catch your attention and make it easy to find on dark dirt track nights but also very clean and easy to read. NOT Gaudy!!!!!!!

Re: Your Favorite Graphics Design?
As several others have stated... race cars look better with simple graphics... but at the end of day... I do what the customer wants. IMO...Too much on a race car makes it hard to the read sponsors.
My truck above does exactly what it was intended to accomplish... It draws attention regardless of whether you like it or not. It is high impact advertising. Mark, I always thought racers didn't like green... :D :wink |

I'm not meaning to hi-jack this thread, but I'm so thrilled to see this car being called a silver crown car. Makes me happy! On the note of the topic, the truck isn't my cup of tea, but it's a head turner! |

Re: Your Favorite Graphics Design?
If you like black, IMO it is hard to go wrong with a black car with gold leaf lettering outlined in red. Kinda old school but it sure looks classy. Especially with polished nerfs, bumpers and such.

I've taken a few cracks at this designing thing. I might be willing to whip up a design, if time permits...

Re: Your Favorite Graphics Design?
Thanks for all the input. Gold leaf does look really nice however I sometimes find it hard to read at night. We will be running the #71 again. Thanks again everyone who has posted ideas.
