NW Sprints Sept 11 @ Lasalle??
 

I just got off the phone with a friend of mine who aked me if I wanted to go to Lasalle Speedway because they were throwing together a Non-wing sprint race on Sept 11th. Can anyone confirm this??? If it's true that is great news!:8: Lasalle is is an awsome place!! I saw the WoO show there and was mind blowing. Please someone confirm this for me.

Just got some info on this. Yes it's on!! Local bizz owner is putting the show on from what I understand. The A.S.C.T group will be the sanctioning body. This a great thing for Lasalle and non wing sprint car racing in that area. I cant wait for this one. count on 8 of us in the stands!! :8::6::22::32:

I just got off the phone with John and it will be $1200 to win, $225 to start. LaSalle has been a possibilty and talked about since IL Sprint Week, and now it's finally going happen. Some of the details are still being worked out, but an announcement will be out soon....this has just came together.

John Gurley does not visit IOW anymore. The person that started this post is a neighbor of Mr Gurley's. Not sure how his IP address is the same, except maybe he is using John's unsecure wireless connection. The race on Sept 11th is scheduled, and will be sanctioned by the ASCT. The track has guaranteed the purse, and a press release will be posted soon. For any questions please email either My Gurley or myself.

What an incredible coincidence!! John Gurley's "neighbor" who is stealing his "unsecure internet connection" just happened to get a phone call, with a rumor that he decided to break here on IOW, concerning a sprint car race, over 200 miles from Brazil, that his neighbor's racing organization just happens to be sanctioning. Wow! What are the chances of that happening?

I agree. As soon as you said it was an ASCT show I lost interest. Face it that series has just burned to many bridges with tracks, car owners and drivers.

Heck if you wanted a lower budget sanctioning body I would have called the MTS in MI. They would have brought 10-15 cars. They seem to growing their series pretty well.

why do they need a sactioning body? Most all of our races here in Indiana are ran without one. Don't know of any one involved with ASCT, but do know some people who are still waiting on some $$$ owed by them. If this track wishes to put on a first class Sprint car show then they don't need these guys. JMO Never heard of any track not paying advertised purse around here till ASCT since our good friend Mr. Allison.

Here in Illinois I know of only TWO non wing sprint races run without a sanctioning body this year.

Just to clear up all the confussion about the race on sept 11 there is no race on sept 11 i have had no discussions with john regarding this race there was some intrest being shown from a outside source and that was were it was left we at lasalle speedway are fans of sprint car racing and would love to have many more shows in the future the support that you fans and racers have shown towards sprint car racing makes us excited about the possibilities of sprint car racing at lasalle speedway at this point the only sprint car race that is going to happen is the bill waite, jr. memorial IRA show on sept 26 hope to see you all there thanks and sorry for any confussion.
