Crew Member Hurt at the Burg
 

My friend and crew member Chuck Wells was hit in the eye by a rock during A feature hotlaps Sunday night at the Burg. He will need surgery today. There is a chance that he may lose sight in his left eye. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.

Seen him right after it happened. He is a a trooper, he was more worried about getting back to work on the car than getting his eye checked. Hope there is a quick recovery and no issues!

I put him our prayer list, my Dad lost 1 eye & then the other went bad. Really upset him when he had to give up driving. Praying this feller comes out ok. Been hit by a few rocks myself.

I saw Chuck last night. No surgery for now, but he's not out of the woods yet. The swelling needs to go down before they can tell how bad it is. I conveyed your thoughts and he's very appreciative. Thanks to everyone.

Good Luck Chuck , I've been hit in the same eye two times at the Burg by rocks , the last time was in 2008 and my vision is still not right , can't read a paper with out eye glasses , good luck .

Went the specialist today. swelling has not gone down much at all. I can see a little more light. The doctor says the swelling is the important thing though that is what will cause the glacoma. Not much has changed still on bed rest. ******* said i cant go to the race saturday. Pissed!!!! You guys are awesome thank you for the support and prayers. Hopefully i dont turn out to be Chuck the one eyed pit crew guy. Thanx again!:15:

One question were you covered by S.T.I.D.A. ? Just to let everyone know the coverage is not just for drivers, crews and fans can get a policy to cover there needs.

Chuck had to have emergency surgery yesterday to relieve the pressure in his eye. The swelling over the last week has left him with acute glaucoma. He's is heading into surgery again today.
