With the purse being cut , how many cars will be there?
|
how much was it cut

Re: Berlin- Silver Crown
looks like the purse is around $35,000. $6000.00 to win $600 to start. 20 to 24 cars probably. nascar is at MIS and could get a couple of those guys to run. plus regional midgets. they should get 14 to 16 midgets. great passing track for pavement.

Re: Berlin- Silver Crown
Any reason or Idea why the purse was cut ?? Is this going to be a last minute pull the plug type deal as well?

Re: Berlin- Silver Crown
The gentleman leasing the track is a idiot, I wouldn't be surprised if he pulls the plug last minute either. I'm really looking forward to this show but it's hard to stay optimistic...

Re: Berlin- Silver Crown
usac99,
You said the purse has been cut. Do you mean that USAC will be paying less than the amount that is posted on the entry? Or do you mean they will be paying less than what you expected them to pay? As duel said the entry states the purse is $6,000 to win and $600 to start. |
Re: Berlin- Silver Crown
Posted purse is correct, and the race is happening without any problems. See you next Thursday at Berlin!

Re: Berlin- Silver Crown
Just to make sure I mortgage my house for the proper amount, pit passes will be 40$?
|
Re: Berlin- Silver Crown
orp was 100 laps and paid 9,000.00 to win-- berlin is 150 laps with 6000.00 to win
|
150 laps is a lot of wear for the money being payed out.

Re: Berlin- Silver Crown
just when the car count was coming back this kick in the face 6000 to win 600 to start 150 lap race 2nd might brake even 3rd on back is in the hole and they wounder where the car owners have gone broke
|
Re: Berlin- Silver Crown
on this track a 150 laps isn't even 75 miles. 7/16 track. distance of miles are about the same as 100 laps at IRP. Hey, up here in Michigan we are lucky to get any Big shows. :23:

ORP race = 69 miles Right on Duel. I guess all I can say is if a team doesn't go then they have a 0% chance of winning anything. Letting your race car sit in the garage is a no cost option, but if you do it for the sport (fun) of it then racing is the only oprion. |

Two things I hope happen after this race: 1) If this promoter DOES end up making some money, I hope he gives a cut to those who deserve it- the guys who put on the show at a discount rate. 2) USAC has a solid 2011 Silver Crown schedule. This is supposed to be the PREMIER DIVISION. Stop relegating these races to support shows; on weekdays too! If you can book this series at Lawrenceburg even, and it's a lock that it'll actually happen, do |
Re: Berlin- Silver Crown
1. $8,000 2. $4,000 3. $2,000 4. $1,000 5. $950 6. $900 7. $875 8. $850 9. $825 10. $800 11. $775 12. $750 13. $725 14. $700 15. $675 16. $650 17. $625 18. $600 19. $600 20-30 $600.00
I would like to thank the individuals, USAC, or the promoter for raising the purse, hopefully the race will have good car count and fans. |

Re: Berlin- Silver Crown
People wondered why Silver Crown races weren't scheduled on a lot of short tracks. This is exactly why. Most places can't afford a decent purse. If you want the races, you have to take what you can get. If you don't, let your car sit in the garage.

Correct me if I'm wrong, did the purse start low and go higher, or did it start somewhere, drop and now raise again? |
Re: Berlin- Silver Crown
Please remember that berlin is a late model track. Look at the payout for a late model race
http://www.kalamazoospeedway.com/new...rom=&ucat=4&el race at Kalamazoo speedway How many sprint cars did usac bring to the race at Kazoo this year? How many crown cars will show up for the Berlin race? I was at the last sliver crown race at Berlin (cant' remember the name of it, was the year the other guys tried running the cars) Had a good crowd. Alot showed up to see Newman race. A week away and not much tv or newspaper ads for it here in Grand Rapids. |
Re: Berlin- Silver Crown
Usac is the promotor????????? With no promoter!!!!!!!!! Johnny benson is getting $2 a ticket from usac! They will lose the ass how long can they keep this up?:14::15::16:21:

A. Choose a series that rarely runs at Berlin, has no entry list and just cancelled their last scheduled race. B. Choose a series of regionally strong/native Outlaw Super late models, where I may see a full field of cars (2007 race had 56 cars show up) with several heats and a B-main. C. Waste my money on tickets to NASCAR MIS on the 14-15th. D. Go to the ARCA race at Berlin. E. Convince some people who can drive an hour to any dirt track in Indiana to watch sprints, that they should drive up to Michigan to watch a Silver Crown race on pavement. I live in the Ontario, the Canadian equivalent of Michigan from an economic standpoint, and I know many people couldn't afford more then one special event race in the next few weeks. I have to work and can't drive the 3-4 hours all week, I hope any of you Michigan race fans can make the show. |

USACRACING2010, instead of teasing us about how great the 2011 schedule is for Silver Crown, why don't you share with the fans what is in the works? Kudos to whoever got the purse back up to $8000 to win. Chop, I have stated my feelings about USAC's lack of advertising or promoting for years. So let me try a new approach, from my fan viewpoint it appears USAC is struggling to find people to promote there races, struggling to get car owners with enough of their own cash or sponsorship money to compete and fewer and fewer fans showing up even at Indiana events. Oh wait many of you will say the last statement about the fans only applies to USAC pavement racing and the dirt racing is healthy; Sprint Week Shows sure pack the house. I will give you that! As long as USAC has the attitude there fans will find them, they don't have to advertise they will continue to spiral downward in my opinion. That long time fan base is aging USAC and dying off with no effort on your part to attract new fans from what I am seeing. Patti |

usac should let the car owners know about there"schedule" for next year ,might help them with sponsorship money$$$$$$$$ |

Like Geoff, I wish we had a (pavement) car, and could currently afford to run it. We would support this race in a heartbeat! Berlin has not only a very racy facility, but rabid fans of all types of racing too!!! JMO, the series has seen enough humility, and should be willing to race at some of the shorter tracks. With that said, the bigger dollars won't be there, but more exposure might help that down the road. Running 5 dirt races a year doesn't exactly keep the series on anyone's front page. Yet with so many 1/2 miles out there, there should be at least one dirt race a month... Again, just my opinion. The shows on the Terre Haute 1/2 are usually fabulous!! Why wouldn't that work at say, Williams Grove? The purses may not be stellar, but would obviously pay more than a Sprint Car show, and would help the keep the series as a marquis type of event. Then, by the time the cars came to Springfield, there might be a bit more buzz about the series, instead of the cars sitting idle for months... In turn, more butts maybe in the seats at Springfield... And then everyone can scream at Sargeant that "WE WANT MORE $$$"!!! :2: Anyways. I could go on, but just thought I would throw that out there... God I miss you guys! :13: |
Re: Berlin- Silver Crown
Not sure if this is just by chance or what. Both time usac has run this year at
Berlin, it is the week of the nascar race at mis. Would this be that they think the local Berlin late model fans are gone to the nascar race. So they are looking to fill the stands with open wheel fan? Are they thinking that a large group of fans will drive up from Indy? Maybe get a nascar driver to show up and bring fans to the track? Could it be they think all the fans have tons of cash and take the whole week off for the nascar race? I'm a open wheel, dirt, no wing fan. Not alot of that in Michigan. So try to show up when it is near. It would be like you guys in Indy only liking pavement late model racing. My kid races karts, so do not get to many "real races" in the summer. Just would like to see good ones when I do get to see one. |
